stormcat, at this point if i were you i'd be posting a hot picture of myself to get more people back on your side.
Couldn't someone just get a little self control, and quit the awful habit.
I won't say that it's a stupid habit, as I would not want to insult stupid people.
I started smoking when I was 8, but that was before we knew much about the terrible problems to come.
Also, at that time I used to run down to the corner store to buy smokes for my mom. I think they were 50 cents for a large pack. I managed to quit a long, long time ago, thank God.
We are going to have to have a new restroom put on the main floor of my mom's house soon, because she gets so winded from climbing the stairs. She ended up quiting for a long time last year when she was put in the hospital because she couldn't move and breath at the same time. But she has started sneaking smokes in the can again.

My dad smoke all his life, I smoked until about 11 years ago. he died a few years back of cancer, by the time he went he had cancer lumps from his chest to his back. I don't tell anyone to stop but people really need to think twice.

I dunno, when i lived there the roads were pretty ghetto... one might infer the rest of the province is too.

I smoked for 14 years and just quit two years ago. It took seeing my dad basically be unable to walk up stairs to finally get me to quit. I now look back and in hindsight can see just how stupid smoking is. Yes, I do believe that smokers are morons and I personally wouldn't hire someone who smoked unless I absolutely had to.
I also believe that a lot of smokers come from lower income families, and I have no proof at all. Guess I missed that critical thinking program at my high school, and yet I'm an atheist. How many people learn critical thinking yet still believe in fairy tales? I guess critical thinking isn't actually working.

I move heavy objects for a living, and my co-worker who is 10 years younger and much thinner than me and who is a smoker is constantly out a breath when we are taking things up stairs, often to the point where we need to stop mid-steps while he catches his breathe, sometimes even when he just walks a short distance he'll be panting, i'm close to 250 and rarely get out of breathe no matter what we are doing. It's the cigs doing him in.

On a serious note, my prob with smokers is this: Both my folks were smokers my entire life: they still are. My mom esp, at 3 packs a day, in the huse, in the car, windows closed, even while pregnant.... the works. I am absolutely dumbfounded that anyone can be so selfish as to jeopardize the ones they love for their own dependencies. It's terrible. I do wonder if there are permanent or long term effects to mine and my brothers' health. Any one who has met me knows how short I am...maybe I would've been 5'10" had my other not smoked with me in-utero and my entire childhood.
Then you have the acceptance that all smokers are allowed to litter. It wouldn't be acceptable for me to unwrap my Oh Henry bar and toss the garbage anywhere I feel like, 10+ times a day, but smokers drop their wrappers and packs very often, and nearly all throw their butts on the ground wherever they see fit, in plain sight of everyone else, and never even feel guilty about it. We are all so used to it, that no one is even phased by this anymore. It's disgusting. Smokers don't even use the ashtray their cars are built with, they think it's acceptable to ash their smoke out the window into the face of motorcyclists, and throw the butt out the window when they are done with it. It's disgusting.
And smoking at work, or the mall, or a restaurant...etc. I get irate when I step outside the doors of the mall, and am ASSAULTED by the smell and smoke from 25 smokers who think it's perfectly okay to congregate at the doors, since they are not allowed to smoke inside. Technically, they have to go 30 metres away (100 feet) from any public building or workplace.
I took a week long motorcycle trip a few yrs ago, with a guy who was a smoker. He had an office job in the GTA in higher management for a firm. Upon watching this guy, at every gas stop (every 2-2.5 hrs) smoke 2 or 3 cigarettes, I can only surmise that between elevator rides up and down the high rise office building he works in, and the time he spends actually smoking, he probably does less than half of a day's worth of work that he is paid to do. Yet a non smoker who may sit at the next desk doesn't seem to have a valid enough reason to take any breaks except lunch. I guess that's what you get for being strong enough not to succumb to chemical dependencies...you get to work more that the guy next to you who does smoke. I saw alot of this in college when I was waiting tables and bartending. The smokers would ask us non-smokers to watch their tables and customers while they continually went out for smokes. But I never got to leave my tables to other people while doing whatever I wanted. It seems smoking is the "socially acceptable" dependency. It wouldn't be okay for someone to excuse themselves from their desk at work every couple hrs to go masturbate in a bathroom stall.

Smoking also kills the taste buds. So a girl smoker is less likely to send you to the shower before that oral fixation starts

from my own experiences i'm batting 1000 with chick who smoke, but yeah i agree, chick who smoke are super slutty.
