why are all the new bikes so ugly?!

imho there's too little variation between brands anymore, thanks to aerodynamics taking away a lot of styling options. They all have to keep within certain restrictions to keep performance good, so we end up getting bikes that all look like they were designed by the same guy. I want to see a unique style that when you see it you go "holy crap, that's a hot looking bike" kinda like what the old timers must have felt when they saw their first chopper

NOW THAT IS SEXY. Not feeling the paint scheme. I can update that though.

If you owned an R7... I would not mess with the paint job. I'd put it into a hermatically sealed, humidity controlled case and just enjoy its aesthetics.

Same as if I could own an NR750. I mean.. This bike was released in 1992! Holy crap it was a hot bike for back then.

Funny how Honda had signals built into the mirrors in '92 and they have some of the uglist signals today.

how you ever wonder how they keep the bikes straight up without anything holding it. Ummmm

I miss my '02 gixxer thou....and I mean I really miss it. A nice undertail, and some flush signals was all it needed..also the most comfy sporty I've ever been in control of, well loosely in control of. :O )

I like the Duc 916/998 for best 90's and the 04-05 ZX-10 for 00's... Even tho I don't know none of these, they look great standing still. Also I read somewhere that the BMW K1 was voted one of the Ugliest bikes of all time by a major Bike Mag.

a bit older, but one of the better looking bikes ever built

To me all crotch rockets look like crap because of the graphics and stickers. Any of those bikes with one solid colour sans stickers would look great. imho Same goes for helmets. And other gear. Tone it down fer crying out loud, this ain't the circus:p It's no different than the cruiser add ons.

My $.02? I agree, all the new SS bikes don't tickle my fancy. My favorite for each..

04/05 GSXR600 (best year and paint scheme in my opinion)

03-06 ZX6R (and for me, it has to be the kawasaki green)

03/04 CBR600RR

Of all the newer SS bikes out there, the ZX6R is the one I like the most. My biggest issue with the newer SS bikes is the thin, tiny passenger seat! I'd be SO nervous taking someone out on a new R6. If I go over a bump, I'd feel like it's going to snap and they'll fall!
And I know I didn't bother touching on the 750's or litre bikes. Figured I'd keep it to the 600's as they're more common.

Again, just my opinion, just my $.02

i have an 04 r6 but i personaly love the 09 and 10 r6 i think the tail of mien is kinda of ugly.. all new bikes i think they better each time they come out.. new GSXR are awesom

New or ewww!!!!

+1 on this list...except I'd replace the 03/04 600RR with the F4i.

I think it depends on brand....

To be honest, these are looking real nice to me...

Maybe this one as well.... but not 100% on the design styling yet. Sat on one, but found it uncomfortable. But super light

IMO, best looking sport bike of all time k1-k2 GSXR1000, newer versions looks like flimsy transformers with ''squared'' corners

Way to dredge up an old thread ... BUT ... still seems true for the most part.

At the bike show, I had forgotten that the GSXR600/750 were new. Seeing them while walking past did not clue me in. The last several generations of GSXR's all look the same. I also like that ^ generation of GSXR's the most, as far as the appearance is concerned. I had also forgotten that the V-Strom was new. Looks same as the old one.

ZX10R ... high point was '04-'05 disclaimer: I'm biased, I own one (but the newer ones have not tempted me).
R1 ... high point was '08, don't like the new ones, it looks like they forgot to install the headlamp covers on the assembly line.

The new Ducati 1199 Pengale, on the other hand ... is darn nice.

And at the other end of the scale ... I like my 2011 cbr125.
