why are all the new bikes so ugly?!

I TOTALLY AGREE!!

My biggest gripe is with the Ducati Monster lineup

Any of the Monsters 2009+ look like complete garbage.

All 2008 Monsters and older with a REAL trellis frame look dead sexy.

The new headlights are hideous too, and especially the way the exhausts are mounted on the single-sided swingarm 796 and 1100 monsters.

As a "classic" monster owner I could not agree more! The bike has lost its classic lines (but they still seem to be selling so what do I know).
 
I don't really care how it looks to others if I think it looks good I'd gladly take it for a spin.



P.S: This rule DOES NOT apply to picking up girls however. :laughing8:

I'm not sure how cool it looks, cause I don't see it, while riding, but it feels very comfortable and responsible:D
 
Makes you think...this bike is nearly 10 years old and to me it still looks damn good. Plus, it's a rock solid ride...mmm I miss this bike :(

PS - totally agree with the OP, I also find the fit/size of SS bikes these days are so weird - like the tanks are so wide and everything feels awkward. Only the Daytona 675 feels right to me.

I think 2010 R1 is an amazingly sexy bike! The rest is ugly! Actually I like the ZX-10R as well, but with a few mods!
 
I personally think the new GSXR600 and R6 are a couple of really sharp looking bikes. I think Johnny P636 got this one about right tbh. Although I dont own either of the 2 bikes I mentioned, I do own one of the sexiest looking bikes ever made. Even my battered and bruised version still looks hot.

the S1000RR is the best looking bike i have seen since my 636 (IMO)

I like the 1000RR. I hear what you're saying...the newer bikes are kinda weird looking, but the owners seem pretty damn happy, so who cares.

These exhausts keep getting uglier and uglier. IMO - the K6/K& gsxr has the best looking exhaust of all times

Weren't you trying to sell your bike last year to get something newer?
I noticed the newer zx6 and cbr600 aren't in your list either?
 
You have some kind of obsession about exhausts, 2 threads and now more comments about an ugly exhaust on the FZ8.

With the noise and emission requirements getting tougher they are all ugly now. The only decent looking onces are the the undertail systems.

Me sell my bike.....not likely. There is not much that I really like now. I like the '05 to '07 models best. If I do, I could only see myself getting a newer gsxr. I'm not feeling the butterfly looking headlight on the 600/750's though. I don't like the colour schemes either. I would have to do a lot of custom work.

The kawi zx6 has a ugly front end like the 10 does but I actually like the styling of the CBR. Hmmmmm ok maybe the gsxr or the cbr I would consider.
