Why Android is better than iPhone.

Does anyone in this thread know what's going on with that new LG Nexus phone that's supposedly going to be announced at the end of the month?

I have a hankering to get the S3 right now but if they got some new hardware coming out I might just wait.
Wait, if its glass backing, get the s3

Otherwise get the nexus

Every review I've seen says it just "falls short".

Apparently has a weak battery life and lousy camera.

Do you really want an "LG" product anyways?

Get the S3, or one of the updated Nexus phones coming soon. Think the next one is called Nexus 2 from Samsung.

Microsoft Surface.

The pricing is ridiculous. These guys are on super glue.

They think they can beat Android and are gunning for Apple.

:laughing3:

well it IS an i5 processor with 4gb of ram in a tablet, nothing comes close to that on the market (ok at that price announced its actually not that model :p)

and a 10" tablet with that much power and apps that will work on both pc and tablet might be a good selling point.

i like the move they made cause price-point wise, you cant make something that powerful and give it away

I think you're a little mistaken. There are two Surface models, an Arm based model for $499 and an unannounced x86 model for $xxx. This model runs a downtuned Windows 8, RT.

What's really amazing is that no one has actually used one outside of Microsoft, yet there is a huge amount of anticipation for it

Yeah thats why i said "its not the model that announced at that price"

Hope they wont fall flat on their face with all the hype

I've read all kinds of things. I even read somewhere that this LG phone might only have 8 gb of internal storage.

It might be a moot point anyway. I'm not sure how long I can hold out...my blackberry's driving me nuts.

Was in the same situation last year. I was in october-november with a dying berry randomly texting, buttons not working, shutting down impromptu (taking forever to re-boot), swollen battery, etc etc. I had deleted almost all my apps for it to run "smoother"

The Galaxy Nexus came out, and i had to wait till January to renew my contract with telus (as they only got it in Jan)
If i had to do it all over again, i would STILL WAIT the 2-3 months cause its DEFINITELY WORTH IT :)

Good point. I'll see what happens in the next upcoming weeks. Things can only get better, I suppose.

Telus will let you renew your contract up to 3 months before your expiry date without penalty.

I heard towards the xmas rush, they will be extending this to 6 months without penalty.

[h=1]U.S. Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update to be released ‘in the coming months’[/h]
http://www.androidauthority.com/u-s-galaxy-s3-jelly-bean-update-released-coming-months-123557/

Earlier today we heard that the U.S. Galaxy S3 versions will only get their Jelly Bean updates in 2013, or at least most of them, but now we have an official press release from Samsung to shed more light on the upgrade process in the region.
The U.S. is a very important market for Samsung, and we’re probably looking at significant Galaxy S3 sales in America. But that doesn’t mean Samsung and/or U.S. carriers are ready to offer a fast Jelly Bean upgrade for the flagship device.
In fact, today’s press release doesn’t offer any actual launch dates for the U.S. Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean roll outs. The handset is available from five carriers including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular, so each one will have its own Jelly Bean launch schedule.
If you ask Samsung, the update is going to be available “in the coming months,” but considering that we’re past mid-October already, we wouldn’t be surprised if today’s earlier report would turn out to be true, at least for some mobile operators. According to that story, only Sprint would upgrade its Galaxy S3 version this year, while everyone else would get Android 4.1.1 at some point in 2013. “Coming months” could still mean early 2013, because neither Samsung nor the carriers are willing to specify when it will all happen:
The update will be made available both over the air and as a download via Kies, Samsung’s content sync and software update solution. The specific timing and update method will be announced by each carrier partner, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular.
Moreover, considering that Google is expected to unveil its fourth-generation Nexus handset right alongside a new Android version in the following weeks, chances are that the U.S. Galaxy S3 will still run Ice Cream Sandwich by the time Android 4.2 becomes official and even rolls out to certain Nexus devices.
Meanwhile, more international Galaxy S3 units are getting Android 4.1.1 as we speak. Thoughts?
