Why Android is better than iPhone.

This is my Lockscreen. Galaxy S3. By using WidgetLocker Lockscreen 2.3.2

Everything is interactive, and the big circle(slides 4 sides..Gmail, Phone, Text Messages and Unlock).
The 2 icons next to weather is notification pulldown and LED flashlight)

i listen to music, so i needed quick access to it.

slide down for camera, and i have a second alternative to unlock(which i am going to change to a different function or app, after this post)

Plus i need some useful tips, only major ones that makes your use, a pleasant one.

And copy and paste...is really dreadful, any tips?

Plus the camera does not take pleasant inside photos, did not test outside photos to compare.
The camera issue is not for me, my wife is complaining big time.

Bah I couldn't wait...so I bought an S3. Awesome phone!

On an unrelated note, I've recently discovered Instagram. I never understood it before, but now that I've been made aware of certain people who post on there just to show off their jiggly bits...I totally understand. And approve!

It's a pretty big game changer for them. They're making huge moves lately, and their planned announcement at the end of the month could be pretty epic.

Thanks.

Just got Nova launcher pro yesterday, and it even gave me the option to transfer my Apex launcher pro setup too, Nova is way better, more options.

Tried Dolphin on iOS, and that is one advanced gesture browser, kinda seem too advanced for the year we are in...but i will give it a second go, its just that i use my Mac to do all the browsing i need....but with the bigger screen on S3, i see myself utilizing the browsers here and there.

Got that QuickPic(free)....Can you confirm the name???? and was it free?

Advance task killer....can you please confirm which one to get, as i see 3 different developer names, and if Pro??
Someone did mention to stay away from task killers and juice defender, but not sure why??

Swiftkey 3 - added to wish list, i see it doesn't have a personal dictionary?

PicsArt-Photo Studio - my wife will love this, i might find it useful too.

thank you...keep them coming.

so i just looked at upgrading my girlfriends' phone (samsung infuse 4g - released july 2011) from what ever it's running to jelly bean... google search finds me this

http://www.androidauthority.com/inf...-1-jelly-bean-cyanogenmod-10-cm10-rom-103900/

first you have to have the phone rooted (warranty voided) and already running 4.0, but this phone came with an outdated operating system to begin with (2.2)... wtf, so gotta root and upgrade to 4.0 in a bunch of steps before you can even think of upgrading to 4.1? no wonder the android eco system is so fractured.

after you do the 4 or 5 steps to get your phone ready to upgrade you have an additional 14 steps to go, and if you screw up your phone's a brick with no warranty. I doubt her phone will be ever upgraded other than the system updates that come down the pipe from rogers/samsung.

Last year when I upgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS 4 to 5 it was simple... connect my phone to my computer, tell iTunes to download the update file... come back a few hours later (i never do the download and update, i always choose the just straight download), connect my phone again and tell it to do the update.... 5 minutes later i'm using my phone with the latest os for it. when iOS 6 came out I waited a couple weeks and then did the same.... it's 2 or 4 easy steps depending on if i tell it to download and update or download only and i'll update later... 1/2 the steps are connecting the phone to the computer, the other 1/2 are clicking a prompt... and there's no worry of voiding my warranty...

seems like the easiest way to upgrade the android operating system is to buy a newer phone. and people call iPhone users sheeple  at least if you buy an older model of iPhone you still get the latest and greatest operating system.

I really think this is the tactic employed by phone manufacturers. Since their only point of revenue is to sell you the hardware, they have zero interest in updating the OS. Only Android phone that really makes sense to me is the Nexus

If only Google used Motorola, which they own, to build a pure Google phone

It takes 3 steps to upgrade Samsung phones the first time.
After that it takes 1 step to flash new ROMS.
Samsung's are pretty much unbrickable.

I read most of this recent thread and there are serious misconceptions for updating your Android phones.
Please ignore the warranty concerns because it takes about 5 minutes to put your phone back to stock.

Quickpic is free and awesome
Swiftkey3 has options to learn from your vocab in your, sms, facebook, gmail, twitter, rss feeds. Thats where you dictionary comes from and for a bilingual guy like me the languages are awesome as you dont need to switch french/english (it recognizes it automatically)

Glympse (need someone to know where you are)
Paper camera (fun gimmick)
Filebeam (share dropbox files over nfc)
SolidExplorer
DellVoice (voIP)
Aviary (for photofilters...havent tried picsart though)
Evernote or Any.Do (for note taking, list making)
Google Goggles (if you dont have it, qr code, barcode reader)
Photogrid (making photo collages)
Mint (for finance tracking)
Pocket (read-it-later, share links/vids/images on that cloud platform)
Watsapp (multi-platform chat)
TheChive app

these are my suggestions :) check out the ones you like
