Why Android is better than iPhone.

Apple made using a touchscreen keyboard on iOS devices, the way to go. But people still had doubts, they said nah, i am sticking with my hard keypad, until Apple comes out with a hard keypad, then i might think of it....i type faster on my hard keypad.

Even the wonderful hard keypad didn't save a certain company!!!

Even the chicks with long nails, don't have a problem now.

I think people type faster with these touchscreen keyboards, and if you don't wanna type, use Siri or Now....even faster!!!!

Moral of the story;
If it wasn't for Apple, screen sizes would probably remain small, to accommodate keypad, or bulkier to be flip or slide!!!

"The problem is really in the bottom 40% -- keyboards that are there whether you need them or not. They have control buttons that are fixed in plastic. Every app wants a different button. You can't add new buttons. How do you solve this problem? We solved this problem -- we solved it in computers 20 years ago. A bitmap screen that can display anything we want -- with a pointing device."

"So how are we going to take this to a mobile device? Get rid of all the buttons, and just make a giant screen. So how are we going to communicate? We're going to use a stylus -- no. Who wants a stylus?? Yuck!"

"So let's not use a stylus, we're going to use the best pointing device in the world -- our fingers. We have invented a new technology called multi-touch. It works like magic, you don't need a stylus, far more accurate than any interface ever shipped, it ignores touches, mutli-finger gestures, and BOY have we patented it!

"Steve, my congratulations to you, this product is going to be HOT."

"We have been very lucky to have brought a few revolutionary user interfaces to the market -- the mouse, the click wheel, and now Multi-Touch. Each has made possible a revolutionary product, the Mac, the iPod, and now the iPhone. We're going to build on top of that with software. Software on mobile phones is like baby-software. Today we're going to show you a software breakthrough. Software that's 5-years ahead of what's on any other phone."
"iPhone runs OS X!"

Huge cheers. "Why would we want to run such a sophisticated OS on a mobile device? It's got everything we need. Multitasking, networking, power management, graphics, security, video, graphics, audio core animation..."

"It let us create desktop class applications and networking, not the crippled stuff you find on most phones. These are real desktop applications." He's quoting Alan Kay -"People who are really serious about software should make their own hardware." "So we're bringing breakthrough software to a mobile device for the first time."

"The second thing we're doing is we've learned from the iPod, it syncs with iTunes. People know how to sync all their media with their iPod. iTunes is going to sync all your media to your iPhone -- but also a ton of data. Contacts, calendars, photos, notes, bookmarks, email accounts..."

What's the difference between an iPad and an iPod Touch, other than the screen size? Seriously. I don't know.

Zero difference aside from specs such as CPU, RAM, screen size. It's basically a large screen iPhone/iPod touch. This was why the reviews were so flakey when it came out. No one really knew what the hell to make of it. Even me, a huge Apple fan, I waited almost a year after it's release to buy one. Figured I already had an iPhone and a Macbook, didn't really see the point of the iPad. Can't live without it now.

Easy.... apple found another way to suck an additional $519+ out of your wallet.

Next thing you know..... when they introduce the iPad mini, all those people with MacBooks, iPod touch, and iPad3's will be coming on here exclaiming how life changing and more fulfilling their life is now that they own an iPad mini.

Apple sheeple.......:lmao:

Samsungs, RIMs etcs wet dream?

^ rofl holy crap

Samsung is such a joke haha they should just stick to making TVs.

You do realize that every single modern tablet as we know it owes it's existence to the iPad, right? So that Blackberry Playbook, Nexus 7, every single Samsung tablet, every single Acer tablet, etc. would not be here were it not for the iPad.

If this was just a "sheeple" effect, why would all of these other companies put so much money into developing and marketing these useless pieces of plastic?

Don't think this is true, microsoft had some tablet product way before iPad came out. However it never took off because their polish and marketing skills are nowhere near what apple can do.

Someone said it earlier, apple is never really at the top level of innovation and specs it just does a much better job at putting out a complete and polished product as well as marketing it very well. In the end it doesn't really matter who invented the guts of the gadgets but who can do a better job selling the complete product, the whole boutique form of selling electronics is genius and other companies should take note. Selling loads of different crappy models of the same gadget devalues the brand, especially with smartphones which follow an almost fashion industry like market curve.

Only nerds who cant see the whole picture care about specs.

You said it yourself; Apple puts out a complete and polished product. Samsung and others then join the market by copying them and paying for it later

What's the difference between 24 inch tv and a 55 inch tv, other than the screen size? Seriously. I don't know.

i wanted to say something earlier too, but didn't find the time or care.

i thought most of these guys, that asked that question....was on the band wagon for a bigger screen than the iphone, so they embrace the big screens on android phones. Because bigger is better.

So Apple made a device with a bigger screen, and they hate it????
With better battery life.

Also, the sheeple thing....the iPad mini is for the big screen haters, mostly!!!!

I would, if it truly was a new product.

That implies that you would find it easier to describe a 55" TV to someone who didn't know about it by listing every one of it's functional attributes individually, rather than comparing it to a 24" TV and explaining that it has a bigger screen.

I suppose I can believe you'd do that, given how prone you are to hyperbole.

Cool story bro.

3 easy steps to no longer being ignorant:

1. Examine tablet products and marketplace prior to iPad
2. Examine iPad
3. Examine current tablet marketplace.

Bonus step:
4. Bend over and take the Apple gently

Yeah yeah, and "take a seat son ---->", I know the drill.

You're about as original as Samsung.

Tablets before the iPad were useless for pretty much anything. That's why I specifically stated modern tablet, it really is a different product pre and post iPad.

Before the iPad, most tablets were basically laptops with a ****** touch screen, running full blown windows and all the apps that come with it. You needed a stylus since Windows was never designed as a touch OS. They were heavy, the battery life sucked, outside of a few specific uses, no one ever bought one. A bit of an extreme example, but this is a Honda diagnostic scanner used to diagnose Honda vehicles; http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-HDS-T...0761952278344007&_qi=RTM1062687#ht_500wt_1378. It weighs about ten pounds, the touch screen never does what you want it to do, it's slow, doesn't work without the stylus, etc. etc.

Apple didn't invent the tablet, but they did create the ingredients for one that works. Lightweight, portable, long battery life, slim OS, no need for a stylus, etc. etc. Similar to what they did with the smartphone market, they did with the tablet market.
