Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Not really planning to get a new bike yet. It only has 250,000 km on it. :) There is first generation V-Strom DL1000 that has over 437,000 **miles** on it so should be some life left in mine. :)

Yeah I noticed a rider, or a few on ST with very high mileage. I was just basing my guess off your sig. But if it works and can keep going why not.

When I changed bikes it wasn't because the bike was worn out but because there were upgrades that appealed to me. The 2012 DL650 added ABS and I liked the dash info better than my 2006. The 2015 DL1000 added Traction control, the 2020 DL 1050 added cornering abs and to me ,very important, Cruise control. I do like riding this one a lot as the power curve is much sportier than the 2015 DL1000 which was tuned more for bottom end torque, more like the power curve of the 650's but with more power.

Still riding albeit only a couple times since the snowfall as I've been swamped with work. Looking like next week is going to be an absolute scorcher by December standards so I'm excited for that.

Blew my back out Friday so I haven't got the bike back together..

Hope you're feeling better, back issues suck. I tweaked mine last week while on our cruise and spent the remainder of that day walking funny, but thankfully it wasn't a complete blowout. It used to take me about 2 days to get over a full blowout before, but the last few times it was 3-4 days, getting old sucks. Being out of shape doesn’t help either lol.

Almost back to 100% so I was out finishing the rad swap today.
We had a lot of rain recently so I should be good to get out for a test ride soon.

If I had a day off remaining I was thinking of going to Dover tomorrow. Winds are dying down overnight apparently, and sunny and -2. Totally rideable with appropriate gear, and my bike has spectacular air management which makes things nicer too.

Got the bike back together and had snow yesterday.

-2 to Dover. I'm very tempted to try. Not sure I can keep my hands warm at that temp with my current gear. I need better gloves.
Keep us posted on the plans and I might try to meet up.

Looks like winter roared back into town here. Dover looks dicey....

Not tires. More concerned with blowing snow and whether the gear acn keep up.

Was just joking honestly, but yeah, I'm out too. Snow blowing across the 401 in spots currently I understand which means fresh salt, and I'm still nursing some stupid lung thing now since returning from vacay, after being on antibiotics the week *before* vacay and thinking I'd beat it. Hopping on a bike and blasting into winter would probably be unwise right now from the perspective of getting rid of that.

Not to worry. As a sledder, I'm pretty sure we'll have lots of riding opportunities this winter.
Maybe a quick nip round the block to get the coolant mixing. (I want to dump the new fluid and refill to be certain I have most of the swamp water out of it)

As long as this temperature snow/rain rollercoaster doesn't continue. This weeks rain obliterated a lot of the snow, and now it's a sheet of ice in a lot of places.

I got all excited when I saw "sunny" on Sundays forecast, until I noticed the temperatures... -14 overnight Saturday and a high of -6 on Sunday.

I'm still hoping to get a few hundred more K in so I can hit that mental barrier of 20,000km for the year, but it's not looking positive.
