You might get your chance Monday. Rain on Sunday will wash away the salt for the warm Monday. But lots of time for forecast to change by then. Looking good now.
Unfortunately I'm stuck working next Monday. Second most senior guy in the building and somehow all the junior guys arranged all their single vacation days and personal days to take this Monday and Friday off, as well as the few days next week, so instead of getting the full 2 weeks off uninterrupted as I'd planned, I'm stuck working a bunch of them.
Oh well. Next year apparently I need to do the same for the Monday and Tuesday.

Lol, nope, my 23rd rodeo at this company, but if you look up “Murphys Law” in the dictionary there’s a picture of me as part of the entry.
I started to not really have to worry about this stuff about five years ago when I reached virtually the top of the seniority list and had all of these skeleton-crew days off voluntarily, however a bit of a weird sequence of events and some changes within the company has resulted in this happening both last year and this year where guys are being very creative with their day off allotments to get out of being voluntold they were working.
So next year I will be sure to save a couple of personal days to book for the days either side of Chrismas, and of course after doing that (and not having used them for Motorcycle days in the summer instead as I often do), I fully expect that things will go back to the way they used to operate and those days will end up being wasted as I wouldn’t have needed to take them to get the days off to begin with, but again, Murphy’s Law lol
Dang man you spooked him. Sun was blazing here 10 minutes ago. Hope to get out today or tomorrow.
(Also hope to wheel the Wing outside and fire it up for the first time. No mufflers this should be fun...)
Was out yesterday so it's official, the killer was out every month in 2024. (Should have stayed off the gravel, bike ,boots and pants up to the knees are covered in mud)

I was tempted to go out yesterday as well. There was a sliver of sun for about 1 hour, but I missed it. Checked outside again and it was so blah, said forget it. Back to hibernating...
Meh, I'm beyond the point of needing to do something like that "just because". Besides, our street is still covered in a bunch of rock salt - the salters and plows always go really slow down our street because it's short, so the salt always gets put on thick.
Went to Brooklin and back today, my only ride in December. Wet and muddy (came back thru the Pickering airport lands). I usually do my Santa ride from 7&48 to Maple and back the weekend before Christmas, not this year as there was snow- lots of snow.
I got home from Calgary this morning around 4:30am (FLight was delayed) and didn't get to sleep until 5:30am. I intended to get up and ride in the morning but slept in late I managed to get out for a little ride this aft, barely around the block because radar was showing snow streamers around so I didn't go far from home and only got in about 120 km.
At least I ended my riding season at the end of the year.
I woke up late, saw that the sun was out, got all excited and thought I would be able to get out after all, but after taking care of a few things that needed to be done beforehand, it had clouded over and got a bit crappy sadly and my motivation and excitement was gone.
