Who parked on Beverly right now? your bike has been tipped over with pics

So a friend just took a picture right on time when some person backed up into a bike parked on Beverly and Baldwin

Friend will take a better pic when she comes back to the area but for now this is the best pic of it

Hey, a license plate.

Oh man.. if I saw that happen to my bike I would freak out. Just looking at that picture enrages me..

That sucks.. did the driver stick around?

At least the plate number is in the shot.. should be able to enhance that enough to make it out. Hopefully the rider is a forum member!

Is it just me, or does it seem that the bike was parked a wee bit too close to that car i.e. exponentially increasing the risk that there was no way that car was getting out without knocking the bike over?

Of course, it could be the camera angle...either way, that sucks for the rider.

maybe just leave a note on the motorcycle to direct them to this thread.

was think it but didn't want to say it. That angle really does make it look like it's too close to the car and he was boxed in.

Your friend is aces in my book, at least they had the decency to realize some **** was going down and get some evidence.:salute:
Sadly tho I bet this guy says he was only backing into the spot and the bike was already tipped, unless your friend actually saw the bike go over and acts as a witness for the rider.

With the reverse lights on and the wheels turned to the right, it sure looks like that idiot is trying to get into that space and failed terribly....

I would assume they were pulling in because you really wouldn't point your tires in that direction while going in reverse to pull out, If the reverse lights wern't on then it would be a different story.

You can't tell who parked first.

Agree with you, but the thing that leads me to believe the car was there first is that if the driver wasn't skilled enough to pull out without knocking the bike over, I don't really think they had the skill it would take to wedge the car into that spot initially without hitting the bike as it was parked...

However, anything is possible, and your suggestion is very well plausible.

Like I said, sucks either way.

call me nuts but there was never enough room for an SUV of that size in there to begin with. Assuming the reverse lights means they were parallel parking.

I've seen people (i.e. I've been in the vehicles with them) turn their tires in the direction they want to go prior to shifting it into first or putting it into drive (note: not saying this makes sense or is right in terms of driving, just 'sayin I've borne witness to such horrid driving techniques) - this person could have just finished backing up, not realized they hit the bike, and could have been getting ready to pull out into traffic.

Of course it's all speculation, and the gist of my post was that I feel bad for the rider, regardless.

if that car was actually trying to back in that is so much fail

ok talked to friend, she said the grey car knocked it over and that was reverse lights on. Then when she came back grey car was gone and bike was picked back up....and another person trying to park into without success so that car left tooPhoto 2012-06-04 12 39 09 PM.jpgPhoto 2012-06-04 12 40 59 PM.jpg

Lol - for 2 reasons.

Biker probably didn't choose the best of spots to park.

Most Toronto drivers can't park in a normal parking lot let alone parallel park.

Hope rider is able to trace original driver for hit and run using photos
