Which car. Any car enthusiasts here?

That's for the s7.

If you can afford the S7, that maintenance cost is nothing.

thats nonsense. You think rich people like being taken for fools?

I know several millionaire owners of Porsches and Mercedes who balk at the high maintenance costs. One of them put his Porsche 911 convertible for sale because he was tired of the $3000 "oil change".

Today I went to pick up my car from the dealership. They had it parked in the bay looking all mean and sexy. The dilivery specialist went through the ins and outs of the car with me, showed me every feature and function.

Wen I got home I was admiring the car in the driveway, I noticed the rear door was fudged up! The paint looked really really bad, not sure if it was a half assed DIY paint or clear coat coming off or what?

The question is, do I address this to the dealership? not sure if warranty covers this kind of stuff. Or is this one of those things that I kick my self in the *** for not doing my own inspection of the car?

Its a CPO from BMW.

I think it was parked in the bay so that the paint job doesn't show. Go back immediately on Monday and explain this is unacceptable as you paid good money for a car and no damage was disclosed (was it during the buying process?) and you want the door properly repaired/reprinted.

that right there could've been the difference for the price and explain the low cost.

I just bought a car a couple of days ago and it's considerably less (3k) than similar from same year but it's due to a higher mileage in comparison to others. 2012 Civic SI sedan with 110k on the odometer. I was willing to go with higher mileage because I was able to get the car and warranty for two more years for less than 15k.

good luck with the dealer, they will state 'this is how it was when you bought it and never mentioned it during delivery'. ****** paint jobs typically show in natural light and are much easier to spot outside.

false they actually show up better under fluorescent lighting hence why body shops normally have them on the walls and ceiling.

To the op I would return to the dealer and see if they are willing to do anything. Unfortunately it sounds like your excitement may have got the best of you.

Always look a car over completely in the sunlight and from various angles. Repairs are easily spotted.

Looking at a 2011 wrx. Anyone got first hand experience?

I'm not helping since I'm selling my 08 WRX but I would not recommend them. Fun car to drive but ****** quality, ****** on gas and parts are priced in the middle. I had a few friends that recommended we not purchase one when we were looking and they were correct. Even ones who are die hard Subaru fans told us to expect issues and be prepared for downtime. All that being said our local Subaru dealership has been fantastic along with Subaru Canada when it comes to warranty work. The car has been fully serviced at the dealership since new even with this kind of maintenance in the past three months we have only had possession of the car for 2 of those weeks.

My 09 has been ok but only after I found a different dealer that didn't give me ******** every time I went to the service centre. Also, I don't know if they've improved it or not but the transmission feel is garbage and it won't go into reverse properly probably 3/4 of the time. Been that way since I bought it at 60k and was told it's normal for their transmissions.

I went Japanese looking for reliability improvement over European. I think I'd go back to Audi or something next time.

Well then your millionaire friend is an idiot. Anyone who purchases a high end car like that expecting normal maintenance costs should just not even look at it. That's the difference between a real enthusiast and a yuppie buying it as a status symbol or "look at me" car.

Ever looked at the back of a 911. There isn't exactly space around the boot or motor. First thing I would think of even if I knew nothing of cars would be "holy that's a tight fit. I bet it's not easy to work on" thus I would expect high costs. Your friend should have probably bought a honda. They're better anyways

Get the Audi care package. $2637us for a 35k service. :tongue9::tongue9:

As pointed out to you. .. that's for a s7 not the run of the mill a4. Thanks for trying though. Falls back to if you want it you have to pay like the porsche.

Oh and before you attempt to compare the nsx I'll point out their axles cost 1500 dollars and their clutches cost 25-3000 dollars and neither are simple fixes. I believe being nice to a customer labor for the clutch was only 6 hours.

So you and your friends balk at costs. Those cars aren't the only ones with them. You want to own a real high end car that's what it takes.

$3000 oil change? And I was scared away from Maserati when my mechanic told me an oil change costs somewhere around $300.

Thanks this is the info I need. Seems like the guys at the subbie forums have biased options.

That price is a tad exaggerated and also will be a 911 turbo. The average naturally aspirated 911 is not as bad. Anyone concerned about maintenance costs should stay away from high end cars even the famed nsx made by the greatest car company in history

I'm a Jeep guy so I know every vehicle has it quirks that you have to put up with but I just feel with the WRX there is so many that the fun in the car has been taken away. Maybe if I was in late teens or early 20's I would enjoy it and maybe be a little less critical of it's issues.

Ultimately we have ordered a 2015 Golf TSi with everything but Nav and real leather we got out of the dealership at around $25g + tax to replace the WRX. Personally I said I would never own a VW after running a business that sold VW parts but the TDi I purchased in the spring changed all that. The vehicle just does everything so well I have zero complaints. Not to mention if you stick to the dealer service intervals the cost is actually less then most vehicles in this class something everyone told me was not the case.

I'm looking for a fun reliable car. Doesn't have to be fast but must be fun and a stick shift. Looking at a civic si or gti.

While I didn't hate my 08 si I'll always lean towards a gti. Fit and finish isn't comparable at all nor is the power delivery. Also I've always owned manual cars but try a test drive in a dsg. They're actually kind of fun.

Has to be white

My buddy just got his 2015 GTi last week and loves it. In fact 4 employees at his dealership have purchased them so that says alot about the new GTi in my opinion.

I test drove a DSG equipped one two weeks ago and it's so smooth and well put together you don't even realize how fast your going. Definitely a car I could drive daily but still have some fun in if required. If it wasn't for the fuel economy and premium fuel we likely would have gone that route instead of the TSi.

As for Honda's i've always been a fan but I feel Honda died in 2000. Everything since them does nothing for me including quality.

I love the interior in the new Golf's just so well done in my opinion...

My TDI was one of the most fun cars I've owned. Low end torque is awesome and the new ones are almost twice as powerful.

For the same price as a Civic SI or GTI, look at a Subaru Legacy?. Decent fuel ratings, regular gas, and AWD. 2.5 boxer engine.

Anyone have real world exp with the Legacy?
