Glad you're ok. It's nice to let adv bikes have a nap now and again. Too many pavement princesses.
That's the best thing about ADV bikes: they look better with some battle scars...

On our trip back from Vancouver via the US, I was actually behind the wheel at the border crossing. Can't cross the border with an open liquor bottle. It lasted 13,300km.Salut Neil Peart.
The Cascades were awesome. Nice cool ride with lots of snow to be found. Talked to lots of really nice people. Winthrop is a really different town. It looks like an old wild West Town. I'm headed down the west coast now.
One more thing. The Tenere has been behaving weird since the tipover in BC. The abs light was flashing, it stalled a few times and didn't seem to be running as smooth as it normally does. Last night i figured i would reboot the ecu by disconnecting the battery for 60 sec. Hahaha. The positive terminal was very loose. Ran like a new bike today. Always check the simple things first.
Try Ihle's paste if you can find it, once the infection is gone. We used it on the twins for diaper rash. I use it occasionally for red ring.Unreal day. Started in Marysville WA. Rode thru Seattle because i have heard it's different. Space needle is cool. The highways are weird. Lots of tunnels.
Took a left and headed for Mount Ranier with heavy clouds and fog. But the closer i got the better the weather got.YES! Long 30km switchback ride to get to the top. Entertaining watching the hippies tailgate in the parking lot. Lots of them carry their skis up the snow slopes. Or just hike up and slide down on thier butts. No devices allowed. Nothing!
Turned South for Mount St Helen.i think i did about 150km of switchback which was also filled with huge frost heaves. Suspension was set on max, and i still bottomed it a bunch of times.
When you see Mount St Helen's all you can do is shake your head. It's unbelievable.
Went to a pharmacy and asked for help with my heat rash (monkey butt) pharmacist is a rider. Cool! He gave me clotrimazole (athletes foot cream) and said take a day off. Whatever.
Absolutely no idea where I'm going tomorrow.
Beer me. Love you all.
It really does. I remember seeing the tv coverage and the National Geographic issue. But it really didn't sink in. When it's right in front of you.... Different story.Getting old sucks...Mt St Helens just makes you feel inconsequential to the power of Mother Nature.
I'll look into that. It might be closed. Thanks. Are you going to ride Beartooth?
Beartooth Pass
The Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, Wyoming 296, links the town of Cody with the Beartooth Highway and the Northeast Gate of Yellowstone National Park. The route crosses the Shoshone National Forest through the Absaroka Mountains to the Clarks Fork Valley. The 47 paved miles of the Scenic Byway run from the junction with U.S. 120, 17 miles north of Cody, northwest to their connection with U.S. 212, the Beartooth Highway. The Beartooth Mountains and the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River lie to the north of the road, and the Absaroka Mountains and North Absaroka Wilderness are to the south.
All of the road closures have been due to cleanup of flooding aftermath. Fallen trees and rockslides.Certainly not from snow tho there is likely snow at the summit - it will be remainder from the spring plowing. It's a major route and you are two weeks later than when we did it...
Try Chief Joseph Parkway I think ...we missed it and I regretted that. Went sailing by the turn.

The trick will be doing Beartooth while avoid Yellowstone but if you are patient and plot a route Yellowstone is magnificent.
