Where's Wingboy?

Missoula has VERY interesting geology.

and the creation story of the badlands was a black eye for the America Geology authorities who black balled the guy who actually figured out they were carved in weeks ....not millennia. Harlen Bretz stuck to his guns and was eventually proven correct.

By the time the Geological Society of America finally recognized Bretz’s work with the Penrose Medal, the field’s highest honor, it was 1979 and Bretz was 96 years old. He joked to his son, “All my enemies are dead, so I have no one to gloat over.”

I'm in good company. I'll be having breakfast with the Harley guys and girls in the morn.
Do they have some sort of wheel lock on their bikes? Noticing a wire from front wheel to handlebars.

Looking good @Wingboy and following closely.

I am curious though what your mornings look like?

Open a map...point in a direction...and go that way? Any particular method to the trip or just 'I feel like seeing X today?'

Winthrop is a bit weird. If you want more alternate reality stuff, you can also check out Leavenworth, a whole town styled to look like a Bavarian village.

Enjoy the coast!

I think an easy >50% of electrical issues are solved by a cleaning/tightening of the battery leads (or a starter relay). It's always a relief when you figure it out, though...

50% of electrical issues are solved by beer, swearing, threats of violence against the bike and a ultimately a call to the local expert for me.

Weird day. Had breakfast with a Harley couple. They wanted me to go with them to a 4th of July thing. The three of us rode about 4 hours and then one of their bikes went kaput. They called aaa and we're taken care of so i headed for Beartooth Pass only to find that it was closed again due to flooding. Backtracked 110miles north and headed for Devil's monument. 725km today across the continental divide.

Black Hills and the roads around Rushmore are really good but may have lots of tourists too. 16A and 87

Ozarks, and Barber Vintage Motosports Museum

Nashville.

Ozarks is a good idea tho. Nashville to see the Grand Ol Opry. Maybe I'll find Elvis!

Other than the lose battery cable, how has the Yamaha been?
