Ozarks is a good idea tho. Nashville to see the Grand Ol Opry. Maybe I'll find Elvis!

Maybe drop to Colorado staying in the higher altitude and then head east to St Louis to shorten the prairie bit. Ozarks a good choice...disappointed I never got there despite a couple of plans a few years back.

Mount Rushmore was breathtaking. What makes it so impressive to my mind is that it was done before our technology. Went to Crazy Horse next. I may be ignorant of the facts and truths, but i think the USA has done a little better job of dealing with the pain thrown at the North American indigenous peoples.
505km today. I'm pointed at Robbinsville NC. And stuff in between.
I'll get a room at the Two Wheel Inn, take the trunk and bags off,tighten the crash bars and attempt to slay the dragon.

Oh, and all the clocks are wrong in this hick town.

Checked into Audrey's Motel in Mound City MO. Lady at the desk says, "welcome, beer?"She passed me an ice cold can. 660km of interstate. The last 200 was brutal with bugs at 75mph.95deg heat and couldn't even crack the visor.

I'll be in Robbinsville in a few days to chill and mess around. All the time spent alone has been good. I have some things figured out. But the tough part will be changing my life.

Thunderstorms off and on all day. About 400km just past Nashville. Robbinsville tomorrow. No pictures, so I'll just leave this one.

Great ride to Knoxville and on to the Cherohala. The first half of the Skyway was light rain and heavy clouds. But the last half was blast. Without reservations i found the Two Wheel Inn fully booked (oops) but they directed me down the road to the Dragon's Rest.I have a really cool cabin for $100usd/nite. VERY quiet and clean. I'm here for at least 3 nights to just chill. For the first time in this journey i really like being alone.

It is. The Dragon is fun, but highly overated by dickheads that only want to show off thier worn knee sliders. Yawn.
All the roads down here need to be treated very defensively. Lots of cruisers and soccer moms sharing the lane you need.

There used to be a super cheesy Dukes of Hazard museum in Nashville, not sure if it’s still there! The hotel I was staying in had Elvis impersonators at the breakfast line. Opryland conference resort has an indoor lake and gondolas! Cheese and kitsch galore!

Started up to the dragon today. Stopped to take a few pics at the Killboy store. A very long tractor trailer went by just as i pulled in. Of course the idiot got stuck. Hwy was closed for hours. Groan.
