When are you taking your bikes out?

I need about another foot of snow melted, then I can swap snowblower for motorcycle from shed to garage.

Similar situation, bikes are blocked by the snowblower and barbecue. BBQ goes to the side of the house, snowblower goes to the shed after the patio furniture comes out.
And then I go over the bikes with a microscope to prep for the first ride.

Got out for the first ride of the season today, just around the block a couple of times.

Bonneville started first try and runs like a champ, feels good to be back in the saddle.
Real good.

Last ride last year was 12 November - first ride this year 11 March, four months off season.

Another week or two of this and I'm good to go.

Mine just sold, so my bike come out when the RC390s arrive at the dealer. God, I hope that's soon...

Got out for my first real ride on my new to me Bonneville, just around the city and down to Town Moto, nice enough out there and no real concerns on the major roads today - saw a few bikes out there (Thruxton, Monster, Ducati Hypermotard, Ninja 650).

Wow -- hoping you gave it a wash when you got home -- still TONS of salt/salt spray on the streets and there's some nice chrome on that Bonnie!

Took my FZ09 out yesterday and the day before. First bike i've owned so Im not completely as aware as some of you are when it comes to maintaining the bike in every condition. I put 50 km on it, or so, and total km's on the engine is 3500. Is it necessary to change the air filter even with two/three days of brief riding on the side streets this time around?

Feel free to start new thread on any question you may have, this is what the forum is for lol

Unless your bike is stored in a VERY dusty place, you shouldn't worry about anything but oil change for quite a while, like 10k kms more. Make sure to lube chain with every tank of gas or every other, and don't get out of the B mode yet =)

what he said and watch the throttle ( break the rear loose ) and braking with all the gunk on the streets or you'll dent your new toy.
Lots of go for the weight and new riders tend to put the front brake on at slow speed turns....will put you down right quick.

That's a handful to start on but lovely machine.

haha ditto!

I come home everyday judging whether I can swop the blower for the bike.....inch by inch its getting closer!

*Someone cut another hole in that ozone*

Just took it out for a quick boot around the neighbourhood. Not sure if it was a good idea; I cannot wait to get out for a real ride now.

Yah wiped her down with Meguiar's Gold Class Quick Detailer after the ride, season's too short in these parts to wait for ideal conditions.

its going to snow 4 more times in march and probably another 1-2 more times in april and stop around april 14th. Salt will still be all over the roads until probably end of april. 10+ weather starts about april 11th.
