What did you do to your track/race bike today

My humble opinion is go with the 1/6, I had 1/5 and i wanted more right away

Hmmm...call me a sissy but something about going from 90 to 60 degrees (2/3 of what I had until now) on my 1000 kinda scares me... but i'm not saying I'm not doing it..

Sissy :)

Just kidding, only you know

Didn't you just recently buy it? I've heard of Brembo's leaking from the bleeder screw but so far I've been lucky.
What pads are you running on the GSX-R? I have the 19x20 on my 750 with SS lines and stock pads but I feel like there's room for improvement.

This is it's second season. I'm not impressed but that you gonna do? Up until recently I ran the Accossato master set to 19 x 18, Speigler braided lines, Braking wave rotors and EBC HH pads. The only change is the Brembo master going on. which will also be set to 19 x 18.

There`s a lot of talk on here about brake pads. Personally the EBC HHs have never let me down and I know the feel of them so I`ve never seen a reason to change. Getting used to a new master will be a PITA enough.

I found this guide with picture visually comparing them: http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=85278

I think I'll go this route for now, only need to decide 1/5 or 1/6. Maybe 1/5 so I have less to get used to, but still get an improvement.

Quick turn throttle was a great modification. Having to adjust the wrist caused me to go off track once, as when I rolled off to brake, the throttle was still partially applied.

I did the PVC tube mod to my R6. Works like a charm, and cost $0.99.

This is pretty much it: kawiforums.com-quick-turn-throttle-mod

Less wrist fatigue, no more re-positioning wrist.

This is a great write up in that link you posted, thanks. Definitely looks like a better solution than stacking zip-ties. Also, down in the comments people established that this PVC tube mod made it from 1/4 to 1/5 turn to wot on their bikes, and were reporting it was definitely an improvement.

So, I think I've made my mind, my bike doesn't have traction control and even though I think my hand is very smooth, it could be just a personal feeling completely different from reality... So I'll call now and order the R1 throttle to get me to 1/5. Honestly, at my level I don't need immediate full open throttle to become fast, I have other areas for improvement that will increase my pace more than this, so I'll play it safe. Also, even though going the PVC way is almost free and looks like a clean job, I'll just pay the 15 bucks for an R1 tube as it's a direct fit. Step-by-step. If I find need later, I can always either get the R6 tube for 1/6 throttle or do the PVC on the 1/5. Damn, i feel like a wise old man!

Quite honestly, I was negatively surprised to learn your Accossato broke down on its own (read--without crashing it). I was led to believe Accossato is almost if not up to par with Brembo... :(

I also have an Accossato, which is adjustable between 19x17, 19x18, 19x19. Ever since I got it, I ran it on 19x18 with spiegler lines, stock rotors and Ferodo XRAC pads. I like how it stops me, the improvement coming from stock master with stock lines and stock pads was astonishing! Since I'm not at the level to do too much of trail-braking yet, do you think it would be beneficial to run it at 19x19 for more abrupt stopping with less lever travel? (I assume 19x19 will pump more with less travel vs 19x17, correct me if i'm wrong).

I'm tellin ya, it made a big difference with the shorter throttle rotation. My wrist was much much less fatigued. The shorter throw was very easy to get use to, on a 600 anyway. A liter bike may be different.

The PVC pipe mod has held up flawlessly for couple years now. I had pics somewhere but can't find them. If I do I'll post up.

I find it easy on a 1000 as well, people get the feeling from the noise of the engine and the sensation of speed and not for the angle their wrist turn

Frack it, I'm not a wise old man. Just called and switched my order from R1 throttle to R6 throttle, 1/6 turn here I come! The R6 was $12 more expensive though, kinda weird. R1 was only 18 bucks.

Depending on how good the fueling is on your bike will change how much/little rotation you'll want to get to full throttle. If its jerky and touchy a shorter throttle will make mid corner inputs more stressful especially on a 1000. The motion pro offers a ramped insert so you still have controll at partial throttle but it ramps up so you still get to full throttle easier. I had the rifleman insert on my 04 zx10 and it made it pretty hard to hold a steady speed. On my 08 Gsxr 1000 I use an oem tube for now, didn't want the quick turn with the amount of power it puts down. On the 600 ill put the r1/6 throttle tube on. I can manage the power much easier and found I was loosing some speed on the straight because I wasn't quite getting wide open without turning my arm to a funny angle. All in all it's personal prefrence and untill you try it you won't know if you like it or not and nobody can tell you a right or wrong answer.

Well, called and switched the order back to R1 1/5 throttle. I must be the most indecisive person they've ever seen, shame on me.

Bazzaz TC switch and light installed. Now all I need is my frickin motor! I'm starting to forget what stupid fast feels like.

Picked up a frame with ownership, attack triples and full ohlins forks for an 08 zx10r modded for my 05 zx6r, rear under slung brembo caliper and some other shiny bits.
