What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

@yellowduck a have you researched plasti dip for your number plates? I used them to on my bike and threw the vinyl numbers on top and it worked out well.

As for my track bike, it's in the process of getting the suspension swapped out to ohlins, new brake rotors, rad guards, and clip ons.

It's against the rules for you because Ken doesn't know you. Lmao :p
lol that is not what I meant, as long as the number has a white outline it is fine.

;) As long as the marshals can read the number when the bike is laying in the bean field, it's okay? lol

Oh you guys have just saved me so much time!!! Thank you. Red numbers with white outline it is. Emailing Drew...

School bus orange is a good colour for locating something hidden amongst the soybeans....maybe I'll get my helmet painted...

They don't care who you are when you crash, Ken just assumes it was me :)

They basically want to ensure the time keepers are able to see your number when you swift by so they can take note on your finishing position.

Ahh, okay. haha...

So, this doesn't apply to you then? That's how you get away with your numbers? LMAO... ;)

ha ha...well at least you didn't let him out brake you.

The timekeepers must be able to read your numbers. The rules are the rules, and at SOAR there is some tolerance for deviation from them-however, when you stick the numbers on your bike, ask yourself if they are large enough, neat enough, and legible enough to read at 100 mph in a pack of 5 bikes vying for a win ( speeds of over 100 mph are easily attainable on the start/finish straight). Because if the SOAR staff scoring the race can't read them, you get a big fat DNF.

This was the number setup on my 1st SOAR Lost Era bike (poor thing....caught fire it's 3rd weekend during a crash, and I never did trackdays, so it had a short track-life-my oldest son and I are trying to revive it for SOAR 's Vintage class):

I have a question about that. The plasti dip option looks good for making proper number plates, but I am worried about the masking. The stuff is so rubbery that it seems like it would come up in sheet when you pull the masking tape off. What's the secret there? Removing the tape before the plasti dip totally cures?

Edit: Never mind - found the youtube video...

Ahh I am going to miss that quick Shifter, I am wondering how different the Bazzazz is going to be for me.

Just one thing, since I see you went crazy with zip ties, ensure you didn't tight them to much, the vibration can cause damage to the cable and cause false engine cuts. Also, ensure your ground goes directly to the battery negative and not to the frame.

Also, if you are riding hard (doubt it) and you feel false engine cuts, change the sensitivity to a setting less sensitive and it should work, most people don't have a problem if your rear set is properly adjusted.

Thanks to blue streak next day shipped service!
Still gotta swap my master out for new one , few little things that's pretty much it

Those are usually mid season "upgrades".
Is goes with the "too many mods to mention" phrase

Took the bike to Sherrard for some suspension setup - Worth the trip and the money

What did you get done and what did he charge?
He just set it up for my weight and gave me different settings for the various tracks I will be doing this year, set of settings for GB and Shannonville and a set of settings for Mosport and Calabogy. I forgot about the new RTD track at mosport but I am sure I can use one or the other according to elevation or lack of.

My bike already had the front suspension refreshed at the end of last years summer, and the rear shock was refreshed by Sherrard himself at the beginning of 2013 so all it was needed was a basic setup.
