What did you do in your garage today..?

Swapped snowies on my Civic this weekend but my Jack won’t lift the Tiguan high enough. Taking it in for swap tomorrow. Might invest in a taller trolley jack for next year.
Had the same issue when we got the last SUV. Replaced the Jack with an SUV/Minivan Jack and it works like a charm…until this year.

I have one of these and I find that it still wont lift an SUV high enough to get the tires off.
I customer made a spacer block out of some 2X6's.

The Tiguan is more an CUV than a full sized SUV.

Is it because the one you have is a low profile one so it starts lower than standard? What SUV do you have?

Have to do new low beam headlight bulbs. Figured I'd do both at the same time.

You can jack under the suspension on most SUVs. Looks like a dog peeing but let's you use your existing tools.

Edit:
Changed diff fluid on wifes car. Didnt look bad (dark with some sparkles but no chunks and magnet didnt have too much on it). Diagostic continues.

This was with a 2010 CRV and 2014 Rogue . Have yet to try with the current model of Rogue but I expect the same.

Why? What happened to it?

Which one did you get?
There appears to be a small leak. Once I Jack the car up, it starts coming down slowly.

I always use stands so it’s not a concern. But it lowers a few mm during the course of the swap as I can no longer remove the stands easily.

That sucks.
Assuming you don’t recommend that model/brand then...

It still works and I’d probably buy it again. Got 5 years out of it and have done countless wheel swaps on it.

It served its purpose well.

I want this….

But needs vs wants and all that…
It will likely be cheaper at costco. I've thought about them before but there a few different models and the ones that would work well for my car are not great for my wifes and vice versa. After today, I am starting a lift fund. Getting too old for this crap. Two post lift will be installed when I cam find one for cheapish.

I love my single post I leave the classic car up out of the way most of the time, and can move it outside to work on my truck.

I have a homemade light duty fourpost over my car. It held two harleys at one point in its life and the plan is to put the mini on it. Two post will go in my wifes parking spot so I need to do what I can to minimize problems. Bouncing over the legs of a one post isnt ideal for this scenario.

I only have 7 foot ceilings in the garage so nothing is getting lifted in there. The shed where I keep the bikes and the classic car has 12 foot ceilings and a 30 x 30 concrete pad in front.
