What did you do in your garage today..?

Ha, amateurs! You need some discipline. This is two cars, five bikes and a tiny trailer in a 2 car garage. It requires liberal use of dollies to get the bikes stacked in front of the cars. The trailer is leaned up against the side wall.
Where's your workbench and tools?

Where's your workbench and tools?
Where's the half assembled bike project and the three carcasses you're raping to glean parts from. I can't be the only one.

There's a rolling toolchest in the corner under the central vac, and a folding workbench on the wall beside the trailer. Oh, I did forget to mention that I have to undo the bolts and rotate the axle on the trailer up out of the way to make room for the car hood, so it's not exactly convenient. This arrangement is just for the winter

Haha, that's part of the discipline. I can't really afford the floor space for project bikes with this setup. Nothing is allowed to be stored on the floor except the toolchest and the green bin. Although I do have a spare blown motor for the trackbike that the previous owner insisted that I take. It's on a dolly too.

That's a lot of work. A for effort. When I first looked at your picture, I was wondering about attaching a tongue to the ceiling/wall, winching up the trailer and hanging it on the ball. More work up front but probably less work to use than dropping the axle.

That's a tough nut. I've had my sohc motor spread over the bench for months now. At my pace it's likely another month or so before it leaves the bench.

You know the real answer is don't park a car in the garage. I mean seriously who does that?

I really hated cleaning the car windshield in the winter but not as much as having no space to work.

The garage isn't heated so if I were working on a project engine I'd bring it inside to the basement. Maybe the whole bike too, if I could get it through the patio door before the wife noticed in time to stop me.

Brian P bought his house specifically for ease of access between basement and garage. It's pretty awesome.

Double car garages.... must be nice.
I'm a little surprised Toronto hasn't followed Montreals approach of tent garages everywhere in the winter. Keeps your car from constantly being covered in snow and ice, avoids the issue of constantly bringing your car above freezing and frees up the real garage for toys.

If you want to stay on the good side of the wife remember my rule - Always open a window before you start a motorcycle in the house

Almost done the garage - just a few minor things to do, including a ceiling rack above the main garage door to hold the tall ladders. I priced out buying wood and other shelves and decided to just go back to the simple white melamine. My Mom was getting rid of the shelf on the right and so I took it and it fits perfect and saves a ton of room on the walls.
Just need a shed to store the garden stuff and need a couple more bikes to fill up the empty space.

That's the easy part.
Ha! Not for me it seems. I'm looking at bikes every day and can't decide on what to buy and am flip flopping between all kinds of models and years.
I will say that my wife said she likes the new Moto Guzzi V100, but I think that might not be out for a year or so. But I've also been looking at older Radian's, Nighthawks, VMax's, VFR's, ZRX's, Z1000's, FZ1's and Speed Triples.

How much to do the floor like that?

dang, your garage is better organized than my living room! Looks very nice and cozy - missing sofa and TV imo :)
