What did you do in your garage today..?

If you can get a small punch on a broken edge of the remainder of the bolt, you might be able to tap it out. Did it have loctite on it?

This... I did this.

#@%&#$! 'Snapped the bolt right off.

FML!

Or torque rating was for dry bolt and 242 lubricated it.

You wouldn't believe what the published (manual) torque spec. is Lol...
Manual called for 242 so... maybe it's wrong about that too.

Afterwards I read up on a model specific forums and found out about the bad info published. Like I said earlier... i should have known better and questioned what I read, but i didn't and here we are... lol

That makes more sense. Although it still sucks. See, this is the problem with looking up torque specs. If you had used experience, you probably would have gotten very close to proper torque and definitely wouldn't have twisted it off.

Mostly my fault... Yes.
It's actually not a case of "wrong" info, but rather a case of me reading the wrong info... Albeit in my defense the source material could stood to have been more clear... lol.
Thing is.. The instant i read that this bolt's spec was 140Nm I should have stopped right there, said WTF and then proceeded to research this obviously out of wack number.
But Noooooooooo... Hack just sets his wrench to 135Nm and proceeds to ruin the evening.
in any case... 'Another first world problem.
We shall over come

So I did the first thing to my bike and took apart the stock exhaust, spray painted it black and re-attached it.

The stock was silver and didnt look as nice. I followed some instructional and it went well although I was scared the whole time haha.

I forgot to take a photo before and after, which I had set out to do. Smh.

This is a photo from the other side of the bike. I was wondering, if I were to remove some of the orange stock decal stickers on the bike, so it is more grey and black, would it lose some value for resale later?

For refrance, this photo is filtered. In person, the colors on the bike are a bit softer, it does not look as sharp or dark in person.

You'd assume PA tools are "made in China" cheap stuff, but it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of well known name brand tools are coming out of the same factories.

I recently viewed a youtube video on torque wrenches...
'Guy pointed out that a major brand(snap on?) wrench was the exact same as another "off brand" which sold for SIGNIFICANTLY less money.
I think the only difference was the colour of the case it came in... Manufacturers item number was the same.
PA tools are junky at best. I bought a couple of oddball impact sockets at PA because I figured one time use... go cheap.

I lost the bet. The impact sockets cracked, the 1/2 swivel bust the pin.

242 would be inch/lbs. probably 20-25ft/lbs.

- the lightec stuff for the z900 came
- underlight led strip came
- frame sliders showed up
- Bought some vibration dampener bolts and washers to try and reduce the vibration from this full exhaust kit. It's really bad

observations...
- the lightec chain adjuster block fit a lot more snug and wiggled less than the no-name brand
- tiny bit heavier
- even without a digital caliper you could get the left and right side to be about equal (very impressive...)
