Netflix Moving Forward to Add Commercials
Netflix will officially succumb to the needs of advertising soon enough. While the streaming service has long existed without the need for commercials, Netflix has decided to change course. Back in April, Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings said that ads would soon arrive to the service, per Deadline...popculture.com
I think they're going with commercials on a free versionThey have lost 64% in their stock value this year, worst performing stock on the nasdaq. Raising the price on a luxury item (that people can get much cheaper even free elsewhere) during a period of the highest inflation in decades was a poor choice. Didn't help they lost 700k subscribers because of the Russia sanctions too, although the stock was already in free fall before the sanctions.
Apparently it will be a lower cost subscription... So probably the cost of the normal subscription before it was just increased.I think they're going with commercials on a free version
Their content sucks lately, all the good shows get cancelled after 1 season.
Dammit. Le Carre is probably my favourite author of all time, but I've been able to avoid Apple's streaming service so far. Ted Lasso wasn't enough, but this might be. I'm a sucker for grey spy stories with conflicted leads, murky morality, and individuals consumed by unfeeling bureaucracies. The Alec Guinness BBC Tinker Tailor series' are incredible, for example...Slow Horses on Apple plus with Gary Oldman and Kristen Scott Thomas. Spy story that’s really well done. Worth watching for Oldman alone. This has a modern day Le Carre feel to it.
Whaaaat. The character is fantastic, especially the first few seasons.Watched S6 of Billions.
It was ok and good, went in some interesting directions and more so in the end. I'm still waiting for the Chuck to fully vilified (I hate that character in the show, overall not a fan of Paul G anyway), it almost happened, but not enough.
Axe>Prince... show lost some of its flair when he left. Paul Giovanni is a great actor imo and is probably only reason I still watch the show.Whaaaat. The character is fantastic, especially the first few seasons.
Anywho, I love that show. But miss our redhead.

the awkward love triangles always kill a good show for me.Whaaaat. The character is fantastic, especially the first few seasons.

The last statistic that I saw said that there were something like 98 genetically men in Canada, for every 100 genetically female. You aren't "pandering" when you're playing to your majority audiencethe awkward love triangles always kill a good show for me.
ffs create a good show without pandering to a female audience
Chrome does the best with 4k streaming for youtube. Lot of factors involved. I generally prefer how Brave handles everything. If it helps at all, Apple’s 4K quality is so so so much better than Netflix and Prime, not sure about the other streamers.
Watching Long Way Up for the scenery (series sucked) in beautiful 4K is amazing.
I’ll just assume you didn’t watch the wire when it came out..Breaking Bad was way more engaging imo.
