Toronto Motorcycle and Powersports Show - Feb 14-16

Show was good, lots to see! I talked to the big ear guy first and wasn't too impressed. Gave me all the pricing, I asked where they are made and he said pittsburgh, at the end of the 10min conversation he said that the prices he quoted me were in usd. $399 usd for built in speakers. Went to hearing protection and talked to Ryan. Product made in canada, $350 for built in speakers so decided to go with those. Much more knowledgeable and professional. I really hope these are the best things I have ever put in my ears or I just bought some really expensive ear plugs! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was there today as well and also got a pair from Ryan. The Big Ear prices were in USD?! He quoted me $300 for a filtered pair and I thought that was ridiculous, and I assumed it was CAD at the time :ROFLMAO:

Holy moly!

Anyone manage to find a discount code? Seems like presto isn't offering one this year (auto show only).

That’s odd as the January show was all Cdn pricing.
Ryan at Hearing protection is who answered my emails. I thought he was very professional too. He said they only make the $100 plugs at the shows and not at the shop.
Looking forward to your review of them once you get them.

Good amount of bikes and booths to checkout. There's some deep discounts on gear to be had while sizes last. Highlight was the pilgrimage to the GTAM Booth :) Word on the street is that you gain an extra horsepower for each GTAM sticker. As the kids might say "no cap!"

You'll be very happy with them.

I thought this was the best version of the February show since it moved to the Ex. Lots of bikes, with great examples of the respective model lines from many of the manufacturers, though a couple were a bit sparse. All it was missing was a vintage bike display, though the VRRA was there and Honda had a nice 1981 CB750F in the display. I watched as 5 or 6 people checked out the dangling label on it looking for a price, thinking it was a new model.

Far superior to the last January show for my viewing pleasure, absence of vintage display notwithstanding.

If this show had a red carpet of vintage bikes it would be great! I tried contacting the show directly as well as certain vendors including Kawasaki to see if they wanted to display some of my vintage bikes and I didn't even get a reply. I wasn't looking for anything, I would have transported it my self. I have the feeling that the big names don't want the vintage bikes there unless they themselves haven't done the restoration or build, like the Yamaha tenere. They could have dotted some of the isles with vintage bikes and it would have been awesome! The turnout this year for the vrra was really disappointing! 😔 I understand though given the expected weather for Sunday and it already being a challenge to remove your bikes from the show with their stringent rules for takedown and removal.

Didn't see Kawasaki or Suzuki. Are those the only ones missing?

Thanks for the tickets @cutekill. I pass twice besides the booth and no one was there to say hi :(

I also enjoyed the show. Was surprised by how many high end motorcycles don't have clutch anymore, the GS, the Honda nT1100, Tracer 9 and the Super adventure (not sure?)

The new 1300 GS is a mammoth, the XRs 1000 and 900 are not as comfy as I expected. While the M1000R was surprisingly comfortable, not to mention incredibly gorgeous.

The Tiger sport 800 feels exactly the same as my 660. I thought it was going to be more roomie or with a better seat but from the 2 minutes that I spent on it I felt no difference. That yellow colour is striking.

I got to see the Mandello 100 in person and it's smaller than I thought. Although I really like it.

I'm a fan of Husqvarna's design language. Ive always wanted one of their small 400cc bikes

CFMoto had a huge lineup. I find their bikes interesting as most of the times they are priced cheaper than other brands.

Good show and the snow outside meant no waiting to sit on bikes!
Picked up the custom molded earplugs from Ryan - I got the musician's one's instead of the solid ones.
Also picked up some Motul 7100 and BeeSeal.
And some icecream!

Did you get fitted for those before? Did you supply the in ear speaker?

Did some posts go missing in this thread?

He took the impressions/molds for them at the show and they will be ready in 2 weeks. My brother also picked up a set and so did one of my buddies.. None of us got the speakers embedded, since I strictly use my bluetooth comms when I ride, my buddy doesn't listen to music when he rides, and my brother wanted them for concerts - he goes to a lot of shows and is usually right up front.
