Thursday Aug 8 TMP?

few things I learned lastnight.
- 5-9 (which was only 8:15 cause it was dark) is a rip off at 90 bucks.
- slicks without warmers is just terrifying.
- "red" group was a joke. Lapping everyone in the group in 5 laps? wft ?
-there's a new bump right at the start of the straight that if you hit just right you fly into the wall LOL

Well I know for a 100% fact you didn't lap me... So don't say everyone lol, although I will say that most of the people who were selecting the groups they belong in, need a re assessment on their skills lol....

Ya totally a trophy worthy day...

But what made my day worthwhile was being able to help setup a few bikes for people and seeing improvement after some laps

Never said they were more... If I wasn't more of a family guy over anything else, id love to race.

But since my son's come first, sadly I can't.

Although I love the opportunity to learn or better myself from useful information and other riders.

Oh for christ's sake, you barely ever post then come in here with this high almighty attitude. No one cares if you win the track day or not.

It sounds like a classic tmp run **** show. Last week some poor guy ran over a nail in turn 1, got a flat and they made him paddle the damn thing all the way back to the pits from turn 2. All because they didn't clean the track in the morning. No one fell off that day cuz they knew if they did they would prolly die out in the field.

I think everybody got on the wrong foot here, and it's ironic, because the main characters in this drama happen to be the people who I've dealt with in the past, and who I respect more than many many many others. In a matter of fact, I know kneedraggin101 in real life, we've exchanged parts a few times and he also helped me with my bike on more than one occasion, and will hopefully continue to do so. He's a great guy and I'd say he knows his ****. Fiery254 has helped me here through the GTAM also in the past and I value his opinion. This whole thing is turning into a dog fight, and it's unnecessary. Please stop.

Thanks mate... I said I was done long ago... Also i didn't win a track day.. The winners of a track day are the ones who come home in one piece, after having a fun day.

But he has a gold frame. Automatically I've labelled him as a poser. An I trust TJ's word more than his.

My penske doesn't leak...and it's OLD

I am not sure why mine starts to weep every now and again. Possibilities:

1. Bike has a direct linkage with shock way out near the end of the swingarm, so low leverage ratio and therefore high shaft speeds - maybe wears the seal faster?

2. It spends the winter in the garage instead of indoors (up until now - new house has heated man cave!)

3. The zip tie I have on the shaft to monitor travel is hitting the bump stop and damaging the seal?

Honestly, I don't know. But, I love it when it is working so don't mind sending it away for a refresh once every two years.

On the archaic linkage setup...it definitely has disadvantages, but on the other hand if I need to change springs or remove the shock for any other reason I am just one allen wrench and 60 s away from having it off the bike and in my hand, and I don't even have to lie on the ground. Try that with your average modern sportbike. Sometimes simple can be good!

I made it out for the 5pm to dusk run after a long day at work. I felt like I really made some strides with my body positioning and i'm happy I came out in the end and atleast had a fun evening. The ride home was not so fun, I got drenched but oh well, it happens. Thanks Corsara, and others who have given me adviced on positioning for the tips on here, they were really helpful. I got my knee down for the first time so I was really excited and happy with that.

With all the not so quick people in intermediate. Guys like corsara and your bud had no choice but to run in red.
And some of us were turning 1:21s so didn't lap everyone in 5 laps. Good luck next weekend:)
