The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

That is the cleanest Seca II I've ever seen in my life
He also has a pretty set of Ninja 250 fairings (except for a small rash patch).

My friend called me last night - the guy that actually first got me hooked on motorcycles back in the day. He was raving about this deal on Kijiji he found on a CBR1000RR-R SP for half of what they're selling for new, something like $18,000 with 3,000 kms compared to $36,000 new at the dealer. The wording of the ad even alluded to that. He was ready to go out to the middle of nowhere to go see it, and was bummed that it sold before he could get there. One problem - it was a 2018 model, which meant it was actually (at best) a CBR-1000RR SP, and only worth about $20,000 back then.

In my friend's defense, he's been disconnected from the motorcycling world for over 25 years, and is just testing the waters by looking at what's available. This also relates to my rant about the watering down of the "R" label by manufacturers. Even I found it confusing trying to figure out the values of the CBR1000RR, CBR1000RR SP, and CBR1000RR-R SP as someone who does not pay attention to Honda motorcycles at all.

And lets not forget the poor GTAM member that finally bought his dream SP out west only to find out it had a branded title and could never be registered in Ontario. If the price is too good to be true, it's probably that way for a reason.

Lots of RRRs is a very canadian thing no? VancouvARRR, wieRRRd, BeeRRRRR 😆 got made fun of for sounding like a pirate last time I was back home.

Is $3600 reasonably priced? No idea, but it sure looks clean for what it is:

Probably a good price. CB1s have a bit of a cult following, not driving prices to collector status but making them worth more than most 20 year old 400cc bikes.

They'll kick the snot out of an R3 or Ninja400.

Buy it! They are a blast to ride.
I'm on it.
I rode one a couple hrs in Deals Gap area several yrs ago.....most fun I've had on a bike.
There was a clean looking one floating around a bit ago.....it carries a salvage title.

Nice bike. I like his other truck for sale also...but at 13k seems steep.

But the CB is very nice.

13.17 ¼ mile is respectable for an '80's 400cc, don't ya think?
If I bag this one, it's game on Friday night at Cayuga.

My FZR was faster. GPS read 209. It was grey market JDM, though.

Not sure I wanna go there without a damper.

Did you ever wring it out at cayuga, for a ¼ time?

A 400? I didn't see the point. I could have taped a notepad to the tank and worked on my taxes on the way down the strip.
I should have taken my XR to Cayuga before I sold it. That would have been interesting.

Will it be track only? Consider my finder's fee to be: I just want to see and hear it in person :D

A little Fizzer wouldn't be much of a thrill on a strip. 13 second 1/4 mile with a 120lb pro rider wouldn't be too scary. Could be humbling if the KLR in the other lane was having a hot run.
