2012 HONDA CBR 125R

What are these like on the highway?

I commuted for a summer on one of these from Mississauga to Scarborough along the Gardiner, DVP, and Eglinton. Getting up to 80 is no problem, up to 100 takes time, and beyond that takes forever (if at all possibly depending on your weight and headwind). You're basically at or near full throttle the whole time, and you need to tuck going uphill to stay with the flow of traffic. Your situational awareness needs to be sharp because every lane change takes planning due to complete lack of acceleration. I wouldn't recommend it and couldn't imagine a beginner rider doing it without freaking out. I only did it because I had just rebuilt the thing and it was a novelty to ride such a light and cheap-to insure bike, plus we had the Pan Am HOV lane that year which cut my commute time in almost half. The more I rode it, the more I appreciated the low weight and wondered what it would be like with more power, which got me looking at the WR250X, and ultimately my SXV('s).

thanks for your reply
I did have a CBR300R, fun and lightweight, cheap insurance as well
decent highway bike but I felt like I was not showing it any mechanical remorse
sold it and got a SV650A

the 125 would been fun around town but highway duty might be challenging
I do like the color / paintjob

Damn they gotta start making bikes like this why did they ever stop?
1990 bike with 16,000 km? How did the speedo get all the wear on left side? Damage, or does that wear off from being kept outside? I've bought a couple of older Honda's and never seen that?

So you got me curious - I looked up pictures of other NC30 dashboards and MOST of them have this wear. I'm guessing the clutch cable coming off the lever interferes with the speedo at full lock

B12 bandit 1300$

if it were closer for a look see..
Those bandits are always priced crazy low. They seem like great bikes. For $1300 someone will be really happy. Maybe @Baggsy wants another bike (or get that one running and sell it for 3K which is still a deal).

Bandit 1200 is a great donor bike for a GS project. Forks, swingarm, brakes will all drop into a mid 70's frame. Motor fits with either a header extension or moving the motor forward in the frame.
