The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

It seems to be about what they're worth nowadays, maybe the V4 drove down the prices of the V-twins? There's actually two other RSV1000Rs that are cheaper than that on Kijiji, and one is a Factory (though all of them have Ohlins suspension installed)

Kinda interesting, there's a Ducati 999 for less than $6000 on Kijiji as well.... puts all the stupidly overpriced other bikes into perspective

The 999/749 was a bit of a turd as far as “classic Italian” bikes go. The 1098 and 848 bikes are orders of magnitude better bikes and offer a much better owning/riding experience.

The Ap RSVRs are really dated by today’s standards too. If much rather ride an RC51 than the Ap.

That 999 seems sketchy. No details in post, aftermarket fairings, '04 dated tire(s?)

Could be a deal or a dud

Someone in Ontario is looking for a crankshaft with rods.Be very careful with that one.

Do you mean even new ones are dated since that one is only a year old?

Isn't the RC51 a v-twin? A different beast than a V4?

Sure, but top-flight Ducatis are (or used to be) on a different depreciation curve. That RC51 > RSVR statement is surprising to me though, can you elaborate a bit?

The 848 1098 bikes killed the value of used ducatis as they were half the price of the previous generations and made in much greater numbers. Trying to sell a used Ducati is a painful experience if you are not a dealer.

The year stated in that ad is wrong. That’s an RSVR which predates the RSV4. It is a V-twin as well, like the RC.

$7200 is a lot for that bike IMO.

The RSV4 is not dated and is a very cool bike.

Just my personal opinion but I feel like the RC has aged a lot more gracefully than the RSVR.

The RC is like like a 94 Mk IV Supra, the RSVR is like a 94 Corvette.

Selling a used Ducati is ok, if you have the right Duc to start with. Like any manufacture they made some awesome, adequate , and WTF models. And not forgetting if you don't own an "awesome" , its just a motorcycle that lots are scared of, and price accordingly.

Wish I bought 3 sport classics when they were 2yrs old on dealer floors and discounted......

While I agree the 749 was a bit of a mistep...The 999 was hugely successful, and a great motorcycle, albeit really effing ugly.

wow that was fast
