The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Oh wow I was expecting an SS style quote on that Daytona, guess not. My online TD quote with liability only, came in at $1531.

Edit: Oh crap the gixxer came in cheaper at $1519. This knowledge opens up a whole new world to me. I thought any cool bike 600+ or absolutely anything with an R tacked on to it would be out. But these are only a couple hundred bucks more than my shadow.

It is a good idea to call TDMM and confirm the quotes.

But it’s fairly common for the older bikes to no longer be considered SS. I’m not sure what the cut off age is.

That generally does not change anymore. What is happening is JTR is now falling out of the higher risk categories as a rider. The Daytona 650 and GSXR600 are definitely both still treated as SS

A lil off topic

Does anyone know the last year the suzuki bandit 650 and the sv650 were sold in Canada?

for the SV650, Wikipedia shows Production of 1999-2012 & 2016-Present, 2017 & 2018 Models are being sold in Canada, at least it's listed on Suzuki.ca:
2018 SV650X ABS, MSRP of $8299: https://www.suzuki.ca/?q=en/node/4500
2018 SV650 ABS, MSRP of $7799: https://www.suzuki.ca/?q=en/node/4508
2017 SV650 ABS, MSRP of $7799, $200 Retail Incentive for a Promo Price of $7599: https://www.suzuki.ca/?q=en/node/3519
Not listed for 2016

as for the Bandit 650 (GSF650), Wikipedia Shows SACS (Suzuki Advanced Cooling System) was 2005-2006 & Water-Cooled 2007-2016, Suzuki.ca Only shows 2016-2018 Models & I'm not seeing it on there or any 650 Standard for 2016, Going up in size would be the GSX-S750 ABS while going down would be the TU250X

Edit:
I Think this might be a Good Price, Original/1 Owner 2006 Yamaha 50th Anniversary R1 for $6900: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sport-bikes...r1/1343268152?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

But then Again, I Came Across this 2001 R1 for $2600, granted it's not the 50th Anniversary, likely not a 1 owner bike & got damage from being laid down slow: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sport-bikes...r1/1343206993?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

Also, Here's a 1998 Ninja 500R for $2k, About the Price or Slightly less than a 10 year newer 250: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sport-touri...0r/1343293726?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

at that Price, New Riders might be interested, Bigger bike for price of a Smaller one, though it would likely cost more for insurance. With that in mind, here's a 1999 Suzuki Katana 750/GSX750F also for $2k "Great First Bike": https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sport-touri...ke/1343068968?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

Going back to Original/1st Owner, here's a 2004 Suzuki Marauder GZ250 for $2250, I Think this would be a Better/More Reasonable Choice for a 1st bike + it's mint Condition & 1 Lady Owner: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-street-crui...50/1342939616?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

Thanks for info

I should have clarified

Was looking at the sv650 before it became the Gladius which I guess is 2012

Any idea if I can get lower fairings and retro fit them on this model

Newer versions of sv650s had lower fairings

I suppose anything can be made to fit..believe there are aftermarket kits. but why? not worth the trouble, you'd be better off buying what you want. I like the 1/2 fairing look. oil changes should be easier lol.

wow that's cheap. Wonder what's the catch.

It seems to be about what they're worth nowadays, maybe the V4 drove down the prices of the V-twins? There's actually two other RSV1000Rs that are cheaper than that on Kijiji, and one is a Factory (though all of them have Ohlins suspension installed)

Kinda interesting, there's a Ducati 999 for less than $6000 on Kijiji as well.... puts all the stupidly overpriced other bikes into perspective

^^ that is interesting
wonder what the engine has been modded part means?

and don't think I've ever seen an ad before
where someone took the fairings off to take pics?

but could easily be a grand in value there
