Does Diaper Don get one?

'Only' 1600USD. Def a nice watch IMO.

I got this clock from the estate of a neighbour when I was a very young child. I'm now a senior citizen.
It stopped running a few decades ago. My trusted watchmaker is easing into retirement, so I took it to him recently while I still had the chance, and had him overhaul it. It now keeps excellent time, and I enjoy it every time it chimes on the hour and half hour.

That is potentially mighty old. Did your watchmaker date it for you? Cool clock btw. The case doesn't match the style of most of his clocks so I am wondering if the movement found a new home at some point long ago. Still awesome.

We did not discuss the subject of age. I should have asked him to look for a date on the movement. I believe it's all original. Inside is a tiny paper hang tag. There are spaces to write, presumably, the price but they are not filled in. There are some numbers on it but they don't look like a date.
0 5 10 20 25 30 I'll take a pic one of these days.

Since those numbers are counting by five, I am guess that is unrelated to date.

"You’ll find date stamps beneath almost every Seth Thomas clock. They appear in letters and numbers and take special skills to interpret them. But there’s a trick; Every code begins with four digits and ends with a letter of the alphabet, with the numbers being the year written backwards.

For the letters, they mean the production month, like “A,” which means January and “L,” which means December. So, if you see a code 5981A, it simply means Seth Thomas company made the clock in January 1895."

If you can find a label, here is a website that shows labels through the years.

Stamped on the back of the movement is 89 AL. Stamped on the bottom of the wooden case is 89.
This is the book you want to find for more info. With any luck your local library has it (or can get it). It's expensive to buy as it's two volumes and probably out of print.

Seth Thomas Clocks and Movements: A Guide to Identification and Prices, by Tran Duy Ly (Author)

Looks like your movement (89AL) was available in the 1920's but without the book, I can't do much better than that.

A little late for Canada Day, my Marathon GSAR Maple Leaf from 2009. Back then they weren't sold to the public only to LEO's/Firefighters/Military

Is there a good place to pick up watch battery's online? Need one for a Citizen and a Guess. Haven't pulled the backs off yet but my Amazon watch kit that was recommended on here earlier just arrived in the mail.

Honestly, I roll the dice with Amazon. Pick up a dozen or more theoretically name brand batteries for ~$1 each. Test them all before installing, not all are good out of the gate (but more than 80% of them are).
