Barf. I wouldnt want that for 17.99. What is he covering up at six oclock? Is it engraved with something equally disgusting?
Maybe serial number? but AFAIK, Rolex doesn't put their serial numbers there. mine isn't at least.

It is the serial number location that is blacked out on that mess of a watch. On a modern Rolex the serial number is at 6 on the inside of the bezel. Laser etched.

The old location used to be between the lugs (engraved), ref number at 12 and serial at 6. Which was a minor PITA as to see the serial number you had to remove the bracelet.

Kicking myself for not thinking of this earlier.... just coming to me today for obvious reasons.

There were some strap sellers (Canada/US) selling Ukraine (Blue/Yellow) NATO straps with profits going to the red cross, found references to them on forums looking today. They had them last year, now they don't (all out I guess). There is still a UK seller but they want $40 to ship a strap from the UK (more than the strap)!

If anyone finds one with reasonable shipping let me know. I have a blue SMP that needs one in 20mm....
Mission accomplished, new NATO strap in from the UK, thanks to a fellow GTAM member!

$7500 … beautiful watch.

I love spring drive just for the sheer insanity of it. Complexity of an automatic with the precision of quartz. Still, not 'better' than solar or Eco-Drive except that it's a lot more interesting. Grand Seikos have a very Japanese elegance, too.

Grand Seikos are watches that pictures and videos do not do justice.
I highly recommend anyone with an interest in watches to go to a dealer to get some hands-on.
The finishing catches the light and sparkles. Might be a bit too shiny/flashy for some.
The ultra-smooth sweep of the spring drive is hypnotic and utter class.
I would only get a Grand Seiko if it was a spring drive.

It's definitely something unique about the brand, and I agree. If I do end up spending a bit (lot) larger than my usual $600 CAD cap, it'll be on a dress watch, and GS is up there.

The only problem is I have a 'budget' watch problem. I have a Laco Aachen 42 flieger in black arriving today, and had what I thought was a low-ball offer accepted on a Japan model Seiko King Samurai SRPE37J1 last night (fingers crossed for an aligned chapter ring and bezel!), so pricier watches will have to wait. With the Fugo last week, I'm buying watches faster than I can wear them...

Smoothest second hand sweep in the business IMO

Their “rice paper” dials are sublime.

A couple of stores I am going to check out in the next while.

Nordstrom starts their liquidation tomorrow. They have the typical department store fashion brands, so not a lot of love for most of those brands but they also carry some better stuff, might be a deal on a Longines, Tissot, etc.????

Hour Passion is a swatch group "outlet" store, one opened in the outlet mall in NOTL, will have to see what they have. Maybe normal outlet mall shenanigans, buy one for full price, second one 30% off...who knows.

Replica of a replica.

No need to waste money on box and papers unless the sole intent is to defraud someone at some point. If someone wants to convince themself that they want a cheap one to wear, they dont need the box and would rather save money by not having it.

Are you allowed to sell fakes on fb? They have some interesting rules. A friend was trying to sell a breast pump and that was a hard no from fb. Had to advertise it as a water gun and scribble all over the picture to throw off the image recognition.
