Holy meandering thread, Batman!
Have one of these being delivered today from Perugia (cheaper from there via Chrono24 than here):
Was looking for a budget diver with clean lines and neutral colours, so it came down to this (NY004), an SKX, or some variation of a Seiko Turtle. Went with this because it ended up being just over $300 including shipping, but a Turtle or King Turtle is likely still in my future.
For me, watches much over $500 don't hold much interest, but that's just because I have other obsessions on which I choose to waste my disposable income. The other cheapo watches I currently own are both Seiko Recrafts, as I tend to like the less conservative designs from the '60s and '70s...

I really wanted the limited teal version of the above, but used values are too high for what it is with a basic Japanese 4R36 movement. I got lucky with the setting, as it's relatively precise, running about +5 per day if I wear it regularly and lay it flat overnight...
PS - Anyone else who likes unique older watches for reasonable prices could do worse than check out the Retro Watch Guy shop. It's full of unusual items from the '50s to '80s.
