I've got something on until 9, so unless you're closing the place I doubt I'll be able to make it.

You mean I shouldn't mention to crazy that I'm taking the cop there? Haha

Crazy scares me to be honest. I dont need to hear from her again lol

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I'm just lurking here, and learning about dating habits... hahaha. I've been out with some loose cannons. So long as she didn't ask you to pee or poop on her...

Not in for Ethel's - midway through rebuilding my bike's brake calipers in my basement and my SS lines come in tomorrow - but some other time? Or a ride this spring, if I get this thing in order?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Hoping to make it out for one of these get togethers as well. Just won't be able to this time.

THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE IF GIVEN ........... K 10 GXR 750

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

High Risk always hurts the pocket book, no matter who you're with.
State Farm might be the best from what I gather... and, of course, if they'll pick you up.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

After I crashed back in 2002, and got a new bike, State Farm said I was lucky to already be with them, as they wouldn't sign me as a new client with a crash on my record. I'm going to be calling TD Insurance soon to see what's what. I've heard good things about them. My buddy is paying something like $350/year for his SV with them!

PS, just wired up the new transformer in my guitar amp (the project that I'm just finishing up) and the annoying 120Hz buzz is GONE! Sounds sweet now. Too bad it's 10:30, I want to crank it up for a full test! hahaha....

Sporties are generally least expensive with State Farm, because they go by engine displacement rather than by bike classification. That said, don't believe anything that I say. Shop around.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I'm on a group rate with TD and it's pretty reasonable, all considering. (2 yrs riding, Bandit 600, 29, no tickets, $875/yr.)

If you're an alumni from a school or college, or in my case part of a professional association, it's pretty cheap.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

SF has me with Full coverage on a 01 F4i and I pay $71/month with my Truck bundle.
And they already paid out when my bike was back into with no problems at all.

If you have a 600cc SS and are over 25 and willing to bring a car/truck to them as well SF is almost untouchable from what I have found.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

State Farm can't match the auto rate I get from TD. Although, it is really nice that they don't penalize sport bikes (not an issue for me).

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

My friend who switched to TD was previously with State Farm. He moved everything over, at a significant savings, and better overall coverage. I've been with State Farm for so long now I don't even know if I'm getting a good rate, but what I'm paying for my car and van with them seems way too high.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I think a lot of it depends on the group plan you get.

I'm a professional engineer, so the group rate is pretty good. The underwriter is different for the engineers (Security National) vs. most alumni / workplace group rates (Meloche Monnex). The rates got a bit better when I switched group plans, although just based on my car/house because I didn't have the bike yet.

I'd prefer to deal with an agent vs. a call center, but I'm not willing to pay more for it.

SF is higher then I was previously paying for my truck by $25/month but they gave me a $50/month discount on the bike to bring the truck there, So in the end it was $25 cheaper and only one payment instead of having to pay 2 places.

And They charged $20/month for rental insurance and gave me a $20 discount on the truck, so technically they just through it in for free.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I think a big difference too is that State Farm doesn't discriminate against sport bikes as my insurance does.

If I had a SS bike, would probably be worthwhile to take a hit on my car insurance by going with State Farm.
