The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Could you see me on Sunday? ;) Yeah, it's not crazy crazy, but it wheelies without much effort in 2nd gear and a bit of effort in 3rd. It's good. haha...

Ya it looked like they were coming up with ease.
I just started trying maybe a month or 2 ago and still trying to master first.
I can't get second to come up more then a pop for the life of me,
I just have to find the sweet spot, Its hard now though as my tires seem to always spin in this weather.

Wow those bikes are screamers I am turning 2900 rpm at 110.

Babs runs at about 4000-4050ish rpm for 110. 130km/h at 5000 rpm (GPS verified - my speedo is amazingly accurate - maybe 1% off).

Wow, that's pretty accurate. Your bike must really be begging to rip at that RPM. I know mine at 5000 is right at the point where it wants to open up. Very hard to control myself. haha...

Oh heck yeah - she wants to start to go at that point - but gets really interesting at 7.5K RPM, and she gives a serious boot to the butt at 8.5K RPM.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Anybody available this Saturday afternoon to get out for a bit? I'm targeting 2:00. Maybe zip out to the Milton area. SR25, SR20, SR15, etc...

Have to be back around 3:45pm at the latest -- have to head to Markham for a corporate Christmas party (somebody actually asked my ugly mug to go as a date...).

I'll err on the side of caution this time and say about 18 hours. hahaha... Depends on what we want to do. We'll be keeping it somewhat local at least, and won't be more than 45 minutes from home at any point.

I may be interested but Sunday looks better

Sunday does look better for temp, but also a lot windier. I'm planning a mountain bike ride on Sunday instead. Anybody in for that? Hydrocut trails, probably around 1:30 or so.

No go for me Saturday either. I may try to get out in the morning depending on how cold it is.

I got a work Christmas party too...just seems way to early for Christmas stuff.

Sold my dirt jumper a couple of months ago. Will be looking for a more road friendly bike next year...

I've got an Azonic Steelhead you can borrow if you want to come out. Let me know though, as I'll have to get a dirt tire onto the rear for ya. It's no problem at all though, so if you want, you're welcome to ride it.

Ohh...fancy. Thanks for the offer Dave, but I also just realized all my gear is packed. We will have to get out next year sometime.

And for entertaining purposes of pedal bikes...This guy does some awesome stuff.

I'm in for this! The wife wants to come along as well....and don't worry, she doesn't make me any slower than I already am!
If you're heading out towards Guelph, maybe I can just meet you at the north end somewhere.

Dean and I were talking about this last night and figured we would just boot down the 401 to hwy 6 north, east on 34, then north on Watson Road, the plan being to get to 7 and Guelph Line as quickly as possible to start the good stuff. We could maybe meet in Arkell (Watson and Arkell Rd) if that works for you.
