High temp sealant? Did that come with the M4? I didn't have any instructions about a sealant for mine... and there's a leak from one of the mounting holes on the back of the can. I'm not terribly concerned about that though.

Nah it didn't come with it but all the suggestions on SV forums suggested to use it to make a better and longer lasting seal so I thought why not for the $7 for the tube. :)

Huh... maybe I should do this over the winter before I get any dyno tuning done. Are you sealing it at the mid-pipe joints? My 929 has a leaky mid-pipe joint too.

We can meet at the Timmies at the corner of York Rd and Victoria in Guelph for 9:00. We're meeting the other people at a Starbucks in Burlington so we can wait to have coffee there.....unless you need a couple of them to get going in the mornings!
I'm also off Monday, so if it's nice we can go for a little rip.

Ya they recommended at the mid pipe and the can to the mid pipe as well.

hey Dave - if the leak is at the bolt on part I have to ask if you replaced the gasket. If not I still might have one from my 954RR kicking around you can have - I think they might be the same - Otherwise I have the high temp sealant too - PM me if you need either

The M4 (on my SV650) doesn't use a strap to hang the can. M4 uses two bolts into the side of the can, it's leaking from one of those, but I don't care.

On the 929 it's leaking at the mid-pipe to collector joint, but it's a full Erion exhaust that's a bit worn out (ie, sloppy fit on the pipes). I'll have to use some kind of sealant.

Pipe is all done! I mocked it up and took a vid (couldn't wait lol) then added the sealer and re-assembled. Have pics and vid on my facebook. I tried uploaded here but all the sizes are too large :(

Nice! Mine is the aluminum high mount (that's why it has the bolts in the side I guess). If yours breaks in anything like mine did then it should get a bit more barky on quick throttle blips. :)

This is a repost but for your benefit here is my 929 after I installed the full Erion system,

Don't laugh.. last time I went to a demo ride at KW HD a guy actually showed up in his full 1 piece blue and white leathers. He rode a Buell Firebolt XB12 as his normal ride. Went to test ride the 1125r platform. Thought it was kind of amusing.

Only HD I'd be even semi-interested in riding would be the V-Rod platform.
