They are giving me a 250cc even though I tried for the repsol in the showroom :D

Honda, They changing plugs and checking valve clearance and told me I can use the 250 demo as a loaner.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Crazy. How much do they charge for that service?

Dave, do think you will have the Honda on the road this weekend?

The loaner bike is free and they said 3 hours labour to check the valves and change the plugs and 5 hrs if the valves need adjustment (Which I don't think they do).
I hate paying for maintenance but not sure how to do the valves and they said the plugs would be right there so it would be easy for them.

3 hours doesn't sound bad, but I'm not sure why it would take them 2 more hours to adjust them. It is a bit of a pain in the nads to do the valves. On my F4 there was a frame brace right in the way across the top of the engine and I'm pretty sure the F4i had the exact same frame. I'll likely tackle the valve check on my 929 over the winter. Maybe the SV too, but it's potentially even more annoying due to two heads (not always better than one!).

On my Kat I think i will need the vales done probably next year as the bikes a little clicky until its warmed up. It does not seem to hard Just pull failings, remove tank , remove the engine brace across the top of the engine, remove plugs and the top of engine, Crank the engine back to its proper position, use some feeler gauges and adjust as needed an valves 1-3 crank the engine back 360 again then check valves 2-4 and adjust Reassemble and use new gaskets.

It goes not seem to difficult its just allot of work. Even striping plastics and gas tanks is a chore.

Nice.. to do my valves it's about 6 hours to rotate the engine (or 7+ to lift the frame) and an hour to adjust them... oh well, it'll be due early in the spring. Don't mind doing some wrenching on my own, but that's a bit over my head.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I've got a Kat 750 and mine need to be done as well. Plus new plugs and air filter.

Anyone here wanna do it over the winter? It'll save me $$ over taking it to a shop and it'll earn you a little extra $$ over the holidays when most people need more.
So, any takers?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I got my chain and sprockets today, one step closer!

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Swingarm should be mid to late next week. If it gets here before the relay then we'll swap it on. If the relay arrives I need to get riding it! haha

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Just ordered some new perforated riding pants off of iOffer....
Seller also has custom suits for $200...
http://www.ioffer.com/search/items/shoznay suit

Going to wait and see what the quality of the pants are and maybe order from this shop (instead of the other one posted a few months back). Same general price as the other shop, but custom measurements...

Dude - you find some sweet deals.. just googled a review for the company - http://www.zrxoa.org/forums/showthread.php?t=265716
So, not bad. I may be interested in getting a custom suit over the winter.

Hey, did you get your bike sorted out while you were away? New bearings...?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I definitely would like to check out Tim's pants... er, those new pants when you get them. ;)

Well, Google is my friend.. punch in enough variations and you can find some neat stuff.
Babs is rideable, but the jack**ses didn't even look at it until after I came back from Scotland (how do they NOT look at a bike when they've had it for a full week?).
Parts are on order - expect 3 week delay. New steering bearings and bushings will be installed - I'll ride her back and wait for them to install (they say 2 hours or so in total).
