The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

The other downside of starting late is if we want to grab dinner and beers in Exeter on the way home we'll be pretty late getting home... other than that I'm okay with the late start. Means we can leave at 7 instead of 6. I'll let you guys know if she calls me back about it.

Tim, I think it's pretty hard to make money with the track photography business, but maybe that's because the guys that do it (except for Flair Photo, who charge $20/CD with just you on it, btw) either don't advertise well and/or are very unresponsive to photo requests on the forums. If you could get things done quickly and make sure you have easy ways for people to find/contact you then you should be good.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Holy crap she just called. haha... gates open at 8:00, lapping starts at 9:00 (this I highly doubt, 1 hour isn't enough. I'll barely be able to get my bike out and get the warmers on in that time let alone be ready to ride...). Using the long track minus the hairpin. Track maps here

I'd like to be at the gates when they open, so I wouldn't mind leaving around 6:00 just to be sure we're in as early as possible. What do you guys think?

I put a similar question up in the race section and was poo-poo'd pretty quickly.. apparently $6 is too expensive for some people... come on - you're spending how much to track the bike for a day (include transportation, track fees etc..)? That, and some people would give shots away for free (like from TMP, Aug.4 - there's a thread where a guy put up a ton of shots for people).

Friday will be a test day for me. See if people are actually interested in such a service or not. Will put up a whack of photos with a watermark overtop of them so people can see the shots but would be kind of useless for printing etc. Hope it goes well and I get some great shots. Have a request in to see if I can get to a marshall station and take shots of infield turns etc. They're going to get back to me on this one later in the day.

You need to set up a website to post these pics and and one that can handle taking orders. $1 a shot works...people buy 5 at that price. Take a history lesson on how Killboy.com got started. Personally I don't think there is a huge market for track pics...your better off to set up shop at the hairpin at the Forks and take pictures on weekends.

Hey guys, Fawaz posted this thread and says gates open at 7:00.

I'm cool to leave whenever... even 5am. Like I said, I'm fully suited-up... but I've moved inside the garage, and I'm sitting on my bike making engine noises... (F*#k.... - I'm fast!)

Sure man, not a problem. Would probably have to be soon though in order to keep some decent light...
Can't be first week of September, as I'm away.

Nick, looks like JohnnyP636 may have one for you. Did you call Zdeno?

Sidetrack, take a look at this beautiful scenery.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Need to do another ride with the new toy by the end of the season!
