The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

If nobody else can make it tonight I guess I'll go mountain biking instead. I'm going to bag off work at 2:00 and go for a ride before rush hour starts.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Can't tonight... last thursday night referee shift for me.../

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

So you'll be freed up for Thursdays for the rest of the summer? Sweet!

Weird how we had a bunch of rides with pretty good turn-out and now it's quiet. Do I need to wash my leathers or what? LOL

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Had a nice cruise up to Paris today...did anyone else get out?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I finally got to the beach today. First time this year, terrible... Not on my bike though.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Lol...we debated a last minute run up to Grand Bend on our bikes, but no one was wearing swim shorts under their pants.

Anyone got experience with aftermarket exhausts brand wise?? I really like the sound of Two Brothers, but my friend told me today that the sound doesn't last once it wears in.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

We went to Grand Bend and it was INSANE. We ended up in Goderich.

I would agree with that statement about exhaust sound changing as the packing gets worked in, but it applies to any manufacturer. Personally I don't like the sound of the new Two Bro's pipes. I had a Ti 5" Oval Two Bro's on my old F4 and it was very mellow and smooth. The new ones (maybe it's just the shorties) sound harsh. My friend had a Kerker large oval on his F4 and it sounded wicked. I really like the sound of Yosh on any bike, and the M4 on my SV sounds pretty awesome IMO. Does Erion still sell pipes for F4i's? Another buddy had a full Erion system on his 929 and it was really sweet, Jardine's sound pretty good too. Lots of good ones. Micron, if you can still get them... Just stay clear of Vance and Hines, D&D, and Hindle small round cans. The Hindle large ovals are okay, but the small round ones are ear bleeders.

Anything high mount, looks so nice!

My experience with pipes is with Hindle, and those pipes are loud.

I always liked the sounds of Akrapovic, and it might be my next pipe (hindle is a little to loud)

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Oh yeah, totally forgot about Akrapovic. Very nice for sure. Leo Vince are nice too.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Thanks for the info guys...

I am not sure if I like the look of the F4i with the high mount and trying to find one is pretty hard. If I went high mount, it would be a custom job.

I checked out Erion's website and nothing is listed for the F4i, but you a lot of people do like their exhausts. I came across another company called Level One Racing and a lot of people seem to like them on the cbrforum. They got a 10.25", which is probably crazy loud but also offer a 13" style. I only came across 1 video on youtube, but their website has a few sound clips.

I gotta stop researching and just buy one. Next thing you know, I will be installing while it is in winter storage..hah.

Thanks Dave,

That one actually looks pretty good.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Son of a *%$^#^@@$$ !!!!!!!!

Remember I had my clutch weeping aboutu 2 months ago?
Well guess what -- it's weeping again - only *MUCH* worse than last time!!! ACK!!!!
Had a nice ride to the cottage on Friday, giving the bike a quick once over on Saturday morning, and noticed the weep. Opened the resevoir up to have a peekaboo (not see through) - fluid is down a tad, but not bad.

Ride home, have a look, doesn't appear to have much fluid leaking, but there's a drop of fluid hanging from the bottom of the clutch cover puck.
Hmm.. open the resevoir up, almost completely empty. From Wiarton to Waterloo, easy ride, minimal use of clutch (only time used was going through towns on the way).

*$&)#^$!!!!!

I had better be able to get it fixed before Friday - I'm leaving for the Dragon on Sunday!!! EEPS!!!
No fix = No Trip... GRRRR!!!!!!

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Were you out driving tonight Tim? Bridgeport off ramp around 7pm?

Yup... that was me.... having the only buell with HID's like mine make me kind of unique!

Fairings removed back to stock that way, put in the stock ECM (fuel map really blows compared to the one I'm used to - so they don't complain about a non stock ECM at the stealership). hoping to get an appointment asap!

Hey guys,
I'm new to KW and looking for some people to ride with.
Do you guys meet up every Thursday at University and Bridge?
Anyone feel like riding tonight?

I ride a 2005 750 GSXR (dark blue and white)

Cheers

The sound of your bike gives you away. I heard you coming before I even saw you. Then you see those blinding HIDs.

Welcome to KW.

Check the thread a couple days ahead just to make sure a meet will be happening on that current Thursday. People usually post up to see who is coming or not.

So, I guess that's what my bike is known for then -- a beautiful noise and blinding lights... sure, the exhaust is a little on the louder side of things, but I think it's super sweet... every rider that has commented to me has had only good things to say about it... and only 1 noise complaint from my new neighbor when he moved in last year... after which I promptly shut him up with a noise comparison to his daughters.. hehehehe.... he doesn't like the exhaust, I don't like his squealing daughters... therefore, we're even. Had a pretty good relationship with each other after I pointed this out actually....

Oh yeah, I'm out for this Thursday... bike's on the back of my truck right now, taking it to get the clutch weep fixed AGAIN (thank God it's under warranty)..

Next week, I'll be at the Dragon (if I get the bike back by Saturday that is).

Later!

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Anyone up to go to Burrito Boyz in Mississauga tonight?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I'm out for this week guys. Just got back from a two day bike trip. Took the long (330km) way to Port Dover yesterday and stayed over. Great weather! Tomorrow we head up to Fenelon Falls to take my buddy's boat out for 3 days. See ya's next week!

Tim, sorry to hear your bike is causing you grief... I hate that. That was part of the reason that I sold my Aprilia Tuono last year. I couldn't trust that it wouldn't leave me stranded. Time for the Diavel? ;)
