The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I may or may not be there. I have been sick for the past week :sleepy3:.

Just FYI for anyone....

KW Honda is booking appts for early July and Apex is only about a week.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Not sure if I'm on topic or not? I'm wanting to have valve adjustment on the bike. It's an yami 06 R6 with 33k
I'm hesitant to take it to the dealer because it's a $600+ job if it's out of spec.....never let anyone wrench on the bike but me. So I'm posting locally to find out if anyone can refer me to someone... or have done it before to do it? It's not a small job and will pay for parts and time. Would love to stick around and learn if that's a possibility as well??

Back on topic... I'll be there for Thursday and hopefully get on the dyno??

Here is the place I used. http://www.platinum-powersports.com

Time/ place for Thursday.

Hey, check this out... http://www.r6messagenet.com/forums/r6-how-guides/14272-how-valve-clearance-check-adjustment.html
Valve check/adjustment is not too difficult. You could do it yourself with the help of a shop manaul (Haynes, etc.). I did mine a few months back, (I was a little aprehensive at first), and it was suprisingly easy. Glad I did, and I saved a bunch of cash. Do a little research, pick up some feeler gauges and a caliper, and have at it. Its easier than you would think.

Are there any other meets other than the weekly Thursday meets? Thursday is the only day of the week I work late (8:00 pm).

Everyone once in a while people post something for alternate days.
For example:

Forecast says rain, rain, rain for tomorrow.
How about Saturday sometime? Does that sound appealing to anyone?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Figures that the forecast would go for a poop for Thursday... it was looking so good all week. Good thing I decided to ride to work today.

I don't think I can do Saturday this week... Maybe Sunday?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Sunday later on - i.e. 3pm or later could be done....
Don't forget, it's Father's day, so quite a few people will be unavailable...

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I doubt I'll be able to make it out on Sunday, but I should be free on Saturday.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Oh yeah, Father's Day...

Maybe I'll spend some time on my other bikes this weekend so that my leathers fit better. haha

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

So far the weather still looks good today. Keeping fingers crossed...

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Still looking OK...
If it stays like this I'll be showing up for sure...

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Guys.... the weather seems to be awesome, but I have to work a bit later than I thought tonight (have tomorrow off)... I won't be able to make it out tonight, dammit... Have a good one!

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Hey Dean, I saw you heading up the highway when I was on my way home from work (in my car) at 6:20.

Steve, were you also heading east on 7&8 at about that time? Saw an SV like yours and the rider had dark gear and a flat black helmet.

Hope you guys had a good ride. Great night for it...

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Just 3 of us last night - Dean, Steve and I.
Kanoodled our way out through Maryhill and into Guelph...
Checked out the Dyno runs at Royal for a bit and went back the same way we came (pretty much). Steve stayed chatting at Royal, Dean and I booked it. Hit Morty's for some wings. Great stuff there!

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I don't think it was me I heading to Tims around that time and don't have to get on the express way.
