Then how do you pay your operating cost (fixed and flexible)?

It's a charity remember

Irocian to his boss, boss can we get a raise? nope sorry son, we haven't made any profit since 1927 when the Brewers opened this charity. What happens when I retire sir? You'll owe us $1,742,265.29, we'll need the capital pool to replace you.

Caboose I'll be at bike show sunday with a picture of invoice of this week's load with cost and total charges. For all to see what we pay and sell it for will that be proof enough?

Who cares what the invoice days, if it's $1 a case or $100 a case, they are buying it from themselves

Re: "The Beer Store’s secret sweetheart deal with LCBO revealed" - says The Star

Inbev manufactured the case of beer for $5. They sell it to themselves for $32. They retail it for $32.

Tide goes in tide goes out

...and that's what I gathered, they make and sell to themselves.
Kinda sounds like Enron accounting.

I get it, it's just like this business I knew off. The owner has a holding company, the holding company owns the building and land his business is on.
So, the business (his business) files for bankruptcy. The holding company (his) is pretty much first in line to collect on outstanding debts.

So with this model in mind it seems that if the Government doesn't do what they want they can just shut down the Beer Store and claim, bankruptcy then they open a new set of shops the drink store. They can then sell themselves back that bottle for 5 cents from the Beer Store liquidation sale.
It's a very complex and interesting setup.

It's all legal and part of doing business in Canada.

No, not magical (that could be for the guy who works there), it's logical if you are THEM running the business. If you ask a private business whose only goal is to make money (and the more the better), do you think they would not wish to be allowed to operate this way? Anyone with their average math skill would have to follow their model. Because it's logical and yields them the most profit.

Be careful, so you don't end up hiring a lawyer ... LOL

Re: "The Beer Store’s secret sweetheart deal with LCBO revealed" - says The Star

It is xmas time, people are drinking. The Liberals need people to get mad about the Beer Store scam so they do not pay attention to the ongoing power plant scam...

She does not care about this, she just needs to divert your attention long enough for the latest power plant deleted emails to be forgotten again.

I'd like to think people can be angry at more than one thing

A few people can, most cannot, that is why elections usually come down to one item for most voters (this party is for X, this party is againt X).

I learned something new today.....

“Lobbying is an essential part of democracy,” Wynne’s office proclaimed, followed by a disclaimer: “Any suggestion that any individual contribution or interaction may unduly influence government policy is false.”
