The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

On trial for hit and run causing a teenagers death. Her bodyshop testifies that her corolla has been in four times for repairs totalling over 15K. Killing the guy caused 2200 in damage.

Even if she gets away with killing the guy, getting in four crashes in a few years shows she should not be driving.

Bmw driver driving like a BMW driver gets a dangerous driving ticket and pleads guilty. Judge gives him nine months in jail. That is exceedingly high for a crash where nobody died. I'm glad but don't expect the sentence to survive an appeal.

I suspect this isn't this particular driver's first brush with the law, given the sentence.

Another Brampton gem.

The passenger in the cab lost sight in one eye. What other aches and pains will arise over their life? What opportunities lost.

An abnormal sentence but fair. Also likely to be reduced.

The driver was rushing home due to a family emergency (He says)

The judge accurately said he should have called 911.

I guess it's hard to stage a 9 vehicle crash.

IIRC it's 80 KPH through there. Maybe someone tried to stop for a red light and eight didn't.

I tried to Google Map the location in Brampton but even my computer crashed.
Anything that was 80Kmh in the area was reduced to 70, a long time ago. When I first moved to Brampton, in '71, Dixie Road was a 2 lane cattle track with a 50 MPH speed limit. Now it's 60 Kmh.

My shop was at Airport and Steeles and both were higher back then. You had to watch Airport southbound. When you went over the RR bridge the limit dropped enough that if you were a bit hot it could end in a HTA 172.

At the Tonka warehouse? Yeah, that was an easy ticket.

Still is.
Though it hasn't been the Tonka warehouse for decades. Hell, I still refer to the Rogers offices on Dixie as Nortel. It's hard to wrap my head around changes like that, when their striking workers used to steal my parking space when they were walking up to walk the line.

Public transit was feeling left out. Killed someone to make sure they made it to this thread.

One person is dead and at least eight others are being taken to hospital following a massive crash in Mississauga.

Video also shows a MiWay bus with a smashed windshield, which police say continued through a red light just before the crash.

Edit:

Video released. Bus 100% at fault. Cannonballed through stopped traffic. Medical incident? Bus driver suspended pending investigation.

Bus driver got a dangerous driving charge. They are from Brampton. Slightly surprised at the dangerous charge. Most of these crashes just get careless charges.

Well, he did have to run a red light prior to getting to where all the vehicles he hit were stopped.

You're right; it's usually operation without due care and attention. Police must know something that hasn't been released, if they felt that a dangerous operation charge was warranted. They think that the driver was doing something beyond simple negligence, such as purposely ramming the other vehicles. Dangerous operation causing death can be a life sentence.

EDIT - Happened right in front of the Wendy's/Tim Horton's.

Afaik, bus has internal camera. That could have damning evidence on it.
