When I got my Sportster it came with exessively loud pipes. If I saw a flock of geese crossing the road ahead of me I approached with caution and at the last minute pulled in the clutch and rev bombed them.
I really have no idea why people can't understand the concept of different turn lanes for different reasons. The number of times that I've almost been taken out by someone who wants to take the inside lane in order to beat everyone to the outside lane is absolutely ludicrous. Specifically 410 north to Derry west and 410 north to Steeles east. At Steeles it's frequently an 18 wheeler that swings wide and almost forces me into the island, on occasion. No idea what they think other transports would do, in that case.
Going through a roundabout; woman in front of me comes to a dead-*** stop to allow the car waiting to enter the round-about to come in.
THATS.
NOT.
HOW.
THEY.
WORK!
I understand that mathematically, roundabouts are more efficient - and that they're incredibly common in Europe. Here, no one seems to understand how they work, how to drive in one, or how to smoothly and safety enter and exit.
*I'm sure this topic has been touched on, probably many times; but this one is fresh in my mind...

We just need a paddle that spins around the roundabout and pushes morons out of the way. Like a revolving door. Shows you which direction to go and doesn't let you stop.
2 lane roundabouts work well if the outer lane is only used to take the next immediate exit. In other words, if you're "turning right" at the intersection, stay in the right lane, otherwise get in the left/inner lane.
Unfortunately, the 2 lane roundabouts around here are marked to allow you to stay in the right/outer lane even if you're "going straight" through the intersection, which isn't as good. If you're in the inner lane, you can't tell if the guy to your right is going to prevent you from exiting the roundabout or not.

While they don't do it here (that I have seen), I wouldn't mind roundabouts that scraped off the outside lane. You can only travel one exit on the outside lane and then it exits with a curb in front of you. I agree, the roundabouts with two lanes where the signs encourage drivers to take the second exit from the inside lane are a bleeping disaster as the outside lane is often driving to the third exit.
Check out 50 seconds into this video. Hwy closed for fatal crash. Vehicle in the backup starts from a live lane (maybe right lane, maybe middle lane), drives perpendicular across the ramp lane and then proceeds up the shoulder. Just take their keys already. They are beyond help.
Impossible but, driving really needs to get back to being a privilege with severe penalties for major infractions.
We've come to the point that the idiot behind the wheel is more important then all the ones following the rules..

Last summer I was heading to work, a family of geese were walking across the road. I pulled my bike to the curb to let them pass. An oncoming driver was putting on her eye makeup and didn't see the 2 full-grown adults, mowed them and a handful of goslings down.
The adults males are about 10lbs, they make a nice dent.

In Barrie last week someone turned left in front of an oncoming dump truck with trailer. No major injuries. Road was closed for hours. Car driver got a $110 turn not in safety ticket. wtf. Why bother investigating at all if that's all you're going to hand out. There was a crash with video, careless should have been the minimum charge laid.
Towards the other extreme, I have personally seen an SUV rolled on its side at a local residential roundabout. It looked like the elderly driver was trying to turn right and clipped the sidewalk curb, they panicked and just kept cranking the wheel to turn until the thing rolled. No skidding or sliding; they were probably only doing 30 km/hr.

They have that in Milton @ Steeles + Tremaine. The people in the outside right turn only lane just drive right up to the circle then cut off the people in the inside lane. Basically, it's a 30/30/30/10 situation. 30% are down with the concept, 30% are too stupid to figure it out, 30% are egocentric a'holes, and 10% are on the phone/texting.
