The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

I love my kid playing ball hockey. Sometimes we get up to 7-8 kids all playing together with a few fathers chilling and having a beer.

I love it…until a slap shot takes out my car or house window. Usually try to keep them playing in front of the neighbours house.
For some reason my kids weren't interested, and they were relatively huge.
Since I've had two concussions playing, and they preferred fencing and tae kwon do, that's just the way it worked out.
Not to mention that there are so many more cars on the street than when we used to play.

Fify
Lived on a cul de sac. Neighbor had the city put a big no ball or hockey playing sign right in front of the house.

So the other kids played in the intersection up the street.
That would last about 5 seconds around here.

My boys used to play pickup on the ice at Markham Civic Center once public skating ended. The janitor called YRP to shoo them off. 2 cruisers pulled up to the rink edge, lit it up for an hour drinking coffee while the boys played.

Aiming for the hall of fame. Significantly impaired, speeding, crashed though a fence at a school and hit a kid and drove away. F em. "Justice" system needs to start laying a huge beatdown on these asshats. If you see Gffrizio Murriel in your travels give them a punch in the face for me.

They'll walk away with a lighter wallet and thats about it. On a side note, who the heck at cp24 hired that Sean Davidson guy, holy crap "Police Said" in every sentence of the article. Should get rid of the editor that let that slide through too.

Rather bold of you to assume they would actually pay for an editor.

Lines are merely recommendations.

Another one, but from the turning lane.

In Brampton today noticed how rampant it is with people pushing their luck going through yellow-red lights, almost 3-4 cars push through when they can easily stop. Some going through blatant red lights. Also sneaking in left turns after the green/yellow left turn arrow goes away another 1 or 2 cars will try and beat on coming traffic. Glad I don't live there I would want to be able to write traffic tickets every day.

Heard that this was the second rollover in this intersection in the last couple of days. Weather and roads are as good as they'll get.

Stomping the throttle to make a left to beat the oncoming vehicle is considered "Out accelerating" HTA 172 hit.

I saw a lot of it today and when analyzed it doesn't save anyone time if everyone does it, because of gridlock delay.

And the funny thing is this morning I had a truck (bob tail) hitting his brakes as the countdown was going. We both could have easily went through in time, but nope, he had slowed down so much we both had the privilege of sitting at a red light.

I live just up the street from a college with a large international student population... Their unique driving style has become so normal, it just blends in... Turn right from the left-turn lane? Sure. Turn against the advanced green? Why Not.

The roundabout, however, takes the cake... no one, local or imported, seems to know how to drive on that SOB... LOL

Well, iirc, legally they are recommendations. Expect a ticket for careless if you get in a crash while ignoring the recommendation though.
You are correct. In Ontario lines are advisory, not regulatory, unless accompanied by a sign. Best not think that applies elsewhere, though ;)

I will say that this has been going on for decades now and, while it has gotten worse, not by much. Someone may have gotten angry enough about this sort of thing that he pointed his bike at the side of a turning car and hauled the front wheel up, scaring the ever lovin' crap out of the offending driver, as the bike sailed towards his passenger side door.

(OK, "someone" was me, 20 years ago, but I was young. Ger.)

Brampton representing once again. A left turn in front of a car that was in 172 territory and boom. Interesting that this guy has a camera aimed at the intersection. It must get a lot of action there.

Plot twist, high speed driver was from kitchener. He wanted to fit in so he was uninsured with a suspended license. Say goodbye to his financial future. If I was in the car that was hit, I would do everything I could to take a percentage of his income for the rest of his miserable life.

"Police tell CityNews two women in their 20s were in the white sedan that was struck. They were both sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries but their condition has been upgraded to non-life threatening.

A 21-year-old man from Kitchener was the lone occupant of the speeding vehicle. He is facing multiple charges including two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm, driving while under suspension and operating without insurance."

Address may be in Kitchener but I'll bet dollars to doughnuts primary residence is somewhere that isn't Kitchener.
Insurance fraud. It's not where you live. It's where the vehicle is garaged / operated.

A friend has his licenced up north somewhere to get cheaper rates

1) He better not get an expensive at fault.

2) When he sells his house will CRA say it's not his principle residence and take 25% of the capital gain.
