The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

It's 2023. I wouldn't put money down on that (or any) car having a clutch.
I wouldn't credit anyone, who is capable of doing something like that, of being able to get a vehicle with a clutch even moving.
You should see them go on the Eastbound Gardiner near South Kingsway. You'd think they had bullet proof tires. Don't fall off.
I do. Regularly. Been a while since I last saw someone driving all the way around the ramp from westbound 401 to northbound 410, in the breakdown lane, though.

People still rollerblade?

That whole situation was strange. Blader pulled a u-turn and took off in the other direction. When police caught them they were released with no charges. How does this not get a charge laid (and easy conviction)?

EDIT:
I'd understand if they were on the shoulder and an idiot that made a mistake but they were in the fast lane. No excuses ever for that one.

Should be a 172 with the roller blades impounded for a week...

Not charging the person with something is a major policing fail.
Probably an off-duty cop under the influence. Not a motor vehicle, therefore not a dui. They probably aren't impressed that the video came out, they thought they had disappeared the event.

Hamilton council is ca$h-centric. If he doesn't have any money/means to pay, cut him loose and pull someone over that does. Time is money. It's the Link. The speed limit (like every limit in Hamilton) is artificially low (90 on a 4 lane divided highway). It's fish in a barrel catching someone doing 20+ over. Ref.: most of the city parks there now have pay + display parking, and it is heavily monitored.

I got a ticket on the linc long ago on a bike. A knob in front of me kept randomly stabbing the brakes so I pulled out to get away from them and didn't see the hidden cop. Boo. I had a roll of blueprints shoved down the back of my jacket but I don't think the cop noticed. A courier would have been cheaper.

I wonder if this might be a bit of a grey area? I don't see The Linc mentioned anywhere in the applicable regulations:

Different reg, same hole. Linc isn't listed.

Interesting.

*EDIT* - Maybe The Linc is city owned, and so falls under their bylaws? IIRC that applies to both The Gardiner and the DVP.

Are you guys sure.... re city street and HTA.

Otherwise I am going nuts on the city streets tonight if I can't get a HTA172....
even if they WRONGLY charged you on the street, you'd still get the tow, suspension and a court date.

not worth.

BTW, I am pretty sure HTA applies to pretty much all roads not just 400 series highways....
it does, except for certain distinctions (provincial HOV/city HOV, etc)

'highway' is just another word for road really.
