It needs a few things. Certainly not new.SWEET!! Can't beat a 300 two stroke. Congrats.
I'd rather somebody else takes the depreciation hit
I keep my cars for 10 years +. I buy new. I was once told the best way is to buy 2 years old and keep for 4-5 years. To frequent for me. For our 2 dailies, I'd feel like I was always replacing a car, paying sales tax, fees, selling.I always do this. Very wise.
I have never in my life bought a brand new vehicle of any sort, and never will.
I normally buy new and keep until done unless I can find a screaming deal on used. Last used car I bought was in 06, 6 months old 14k instead of 34k new. Haven't seen any good deals since. When I bought my current truck in 14 I was able to get a new one for 24k with all the discounts loyalty etc.couldn't find a used one under 26k. Especially when they gave me 23k for my 4 year old truck with 100k that I paid 25 for.I always do this. Very wise.

I try, but it doesn't always work.I always do this. Very wise.

Back to my prospect bike.... I heard from the dealer today that they don't allow test rides as their insurance doesn't cover it.
Yeah, it's sold certified, and their "technician confirms it's mechanically solid", etc etc etc...but I flash back to the time we bought my wife's first big bike and despite all those assurances, on the first ride after putting the plate on it I discovered the clutch was f&cked when the first time I cranked on it hard in second gear the engine took off to the governor, and the road speed most certainly did not.
<grumble>
Have you ridden it yet? They had the carb nicely dialed in 18 so you may not need to throw a Lectron at it. Definitely a proper skid plate and depending on your weight/style maybe some suspension tweaks as the TE is soft.It needs a few things. Certainly not new.
I'd rather somebody else takes the depreciation hit, and puts some dents and scratches in it; perhaps mods it a bit so I don't have to.
Lectron carb.
Rekluse clutch.
I'm going to grease and clean everything. Plastics are a bit worse for wear, but a kit is pretty cheap.
Ktm and husky branded parts are pricey. I don't need a $70.00 rear brake tip, when they are $10 on Ali, straight from China.
Ali-Express, here I come!

Its already got a Lectron.Have you ridden it yet? They had the carb nicely dialed in 18 so you may not need to throw a Lectron at it. Definitely a proper skid plate and depending on your weight/style maybe some suspension tweaks as the TE is soft.
Awesome bike. I ride with lots of them, most with well over 300 trouble-free hrs.
Wouldn't your insurance policy cover a test drive/ride?
660? Very niceMy friend bought a tuono, it's so nice...

Most are doing them between 200-300hrs between topends. All have been preventative with no loss of performance and cylinders looking fine. No track riding, just competitive woods riders/racers.How many hours are your buddies getting on a top end?
I hear the bottom end is pretty robust.
