Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Anyway, lets get back on track.. any more $8K ninja 300s?

Buddyguy still trying to pawn off this dropped 2007 Duc for $10k. Now he's reposted for the nth time for $8.5K. He's getting closer to realityville.
Very pretty bike. But it is what it is.

I'm am reluctantly selling my rare pear white 2007 Ducati Monster S4RS as I'm moving away! I'm looking for $10,000 or best offer.

She's has just over 9000km and runs beautifully.
She's been maintained according to factory recommendations.

Ducatis, specifically Monsters and even more specifically the S4RS is not for everyone. It's a very aggressive motorcycle and perhaps unsuitable for downtown city life. If you've made it here then you must be a fan of this bike and understand what it means to own one.

I originally paid $20k for her back in 2007. She's been ridden for 3-4 years but not so much in her later years (just lost interest in riding I suppose).

I dropped her at a low speed a few years ago trying to avoid a cyclist. Luckily I had frame sliders on. Only aesthetic damages. There's some scratches to the left side of the tank, foot peg, carbon seat cowl (I still have the original in perfect condition), and rubber handle. Otherwise she's in perfect condition. No damage to brakes, suspension, engine, frame, etc. All of the damaged parts could be replaced with aftermarket parts anyways (except the tank of course; although you could get a replacement tank if you really wanted.).

$8.5k isn't tooo far off...if it wasn't dropped and the bashed tank couldn't be seen from 20' away.
Now if you want an S4RS owner that's out to lunch....

I'm convinced the gta has the best deals on drugs and they're sold on practically every corner. Where do these idiots figure out their pricing?

by looking up the other prices on Kijiji :)

Buy as many stock exhausts as you can find, and stock up. (at decent prices).
It will be a better investment than the stock market, as soon as more municipalities / cities and towns turn that noise violation into law. Everyone with Two Brother's and all the other "off road" systems & cans will be running amuck looking for an OEM exhaust.
Thank me later.

Not sure stock exhaust will help me.

....YOSHIMURADEX trading at +15 today...

Most bikes with reasonable exhausts pass SAE J1287 (the basis of the standard in Caledon) (two bros., shorty exhausts or straight pipes should expect to fail).

Municipalities aren't forced to use SAE J1287 though, they could use the procedure with their own lower limit, or maketheir lives simpler and go for "stock exhausts only". Obviously if your muffler has "for off road use only" stamped into it, it wouldn't be too hard for the cops to pull your plates until it was repaired. SAE J1287 is a better approach as it allows for things such as replacement pipes on vintage bikes where originals are not easily available, but nobody says that government always does things the best way.

The cop test is 120Db at idle, that's really loud.
All the pipe manufacturers need to do is put switch valves in the pipes for high/low noise like they do with big engine performance cars.

They don't, they just list with high price, and after a few weeks/months they get real.
I never look at the listed price. I show up. The truth is when you list a bike, you get hundreds or emails from Kijidiots, but none will actually show up.

As nutty as the Duc Sport Classic guys have pumped up prices with their "cult" following...honorable mention has to be made to Buell owners.
Been having a love/hate attraction to them since they came out with the 1125 (and Buell actually existed)...still waiting for used prices to fall to where dealers were unloading NEW bikes at the end. Hell in the US they were throwing away brand new 1125's for under $6k.

$9k

Hey, maybe a collector will snatch this end of season buy up! Or it could be the alligator trim on the seat...

Buell owners follow Harley resale rules. I was considering an XBR, until I read all the horror stories. The 1125 is the Buell Eric Buell always wanted to build, because it finally got rid of Harley parts...but Harley did not like that, and him crushing all those Blasts (truly crap bikes) was just part of the war with Harley.

EBR is back in business, and now has financial backing to rebuild Buell back to the size it was at Harley. He's planning models across all size ranges. Strangely, when Harley killed Buell bikes, they didn't let him go with a non-competition clause.

Company has a really spotty history. At one point, they had to recall all bikes for defective frame welds and cracks.

If the 1125 was built by anybody else I probably would have bought one, even before the firesale.
Dealer in Fenwick was making some attractive offers...but I just couldn't get over the "Buell Factor". Hell even the sales brochure he gave me fell apart before I got home!

Comfiest sport bike I ever rode though (this side of a ZZR600), and that fugly Batmobile fairing actually works.
Not paying MSRP on a five year old used bike though! :lmao:
