Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Regardless, there are deals being made.

I sold my bike which was low sided for the asking price.
I gave FULL disclosure to the buyer including before/after pictures (minor damage).

Easier to close a sale once you build trust through being transparent.

Only if your price is low enough. I told everyone straight up that mine's been dropped. No buyers yet. Must be asking too much. Quite a bit of interest but no one has followed through.

10 year old Katana in Timmins - buy it 'cause it's "unique..."

They do hold their value well but yea no way. My 2001 is unique as well cause i did a simple custom paint job. I do not expect it to add any value to the bike. People be crazy

and why would someone get the Stock pipe for a 2005 bike? Most of them have been replaced/modded by now just like he did. lol!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he just looked at what it's worth new in the dealer's parts catalog and is asking > 50% of that. Problem is, those prices are crazy. An example is the fairings for my GS500F. 3 big pieces for $200 each, 2 small pieces for $100 each. $800 to get them all new from the factory, but I wouldn't pay more than $250-300 for a mint used set.

Be happy thats all your fairings cost.

My F4i was $778 for the nose, and $534 for the sides (Each) and $609 for the tail

..and now you know why most bike manufacturers like to use lower fairings, while at the same time, avoid making any type of sliders or protectors standard issue. $1300 for $6 of ABS plastic. Ca-ching.

$2,500 for 4 pieces from the dealership or cut a deal with the chinese for $280 shipped for the whole set
Went with the chinese and had a nice set of "dropped in driveway by previous owner" fairings to practice my paint skills and replace the chinese ones when I lowsided lol.

A full Yosh system is $900 on ebay. Bluestreak has a Two Brothers full system for $832.

Buy as many stock exhausts as you can find, and stock up. (at decent prices).
It will be a better investment than the stock market, as soon as more municipalities / cities and towns turn that noise violation into law. Everyone with Two Brother's and all the other "off road" systems & cans will be running amuck looking for an OEM exhaust.
Thank me later.

I thought those that went for testing in Caledon before the law went into effect did not have much issue? I remember reading in a thread here that 99% of bikes passed, just those with straight pipes etc did not.

Most bikes with reasonable exhausts pass SAE J1287 (the basis of the standard in Caledon) (two bros., shorty exhausts or straight pipes should expect to fail).

Municipalities aren't forced to use SAE J1287 though, they could use the procedure with their own lower limit, or maketheir lives simpler and go for "stock exhausts only". Obviously if your muffler has "for off road use only" stamped into it, it wouldn't be too hard for the cops to pull your plates until it was repaired. SAE J1287 is a better approach as it allows for things such as replacement pipes on vintage bikes where originals are not easily available, but nobody says that government always does things the best way.

nope, those 300s are actually a lot more than i thought they would be. kahuna has been selling them with a few of their warranties and stuff like that for 8-9k on the road plus the interest.
te bike starts at $5799.. the one pictured is "special edition"different sticker kit... add about $500. then $300 PDI, then their $800 warranty and $500 gps theft insurance feature. thats $8925.87 on the road before insurance and plates.
im not a fan of dealers that pray on new riders like that....extended warranty is not needed on these, neither is a overpriced gps system..they tell the customer the dealership will replace the bie if its stolen and not recovered...
no i dont have a ninja 300.
more like $6200-$7000. Don't know anyone that paid that much. Then again people are gullible.
