Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

All of these stupidly over-priced bikes are a big reason why I just went new.

It is especially bad for V-stroms... people put $2000 in farkle on the bike and they think they can charge full price for it?!

I have a kijiji search RSS feed setup to see everything posted in this area for Vstroms... most sellers are out to lunch with their pricing.

Here is a prime example: http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...-2011-Suzuki-V-Strom-DL650-W0QQAdIdZ520264674 A 2011 asking $9100... my 2013 was $8495 a few months ago, now 2013 models can be had for $7995 or possibly a bit less.

They won't sell. Many of those ads have been up for half a year, either they will never sell, or they will sell for much less. Basically, ignore whatever price people post.

When you put something on the open market, what you get offered is what the bike is worth, anything else is just wishful thinking.

Looked at this last week. Dented tank full of spot putty and almost all the bodywork has cracks and breaks in it. Smokes on start up and not just a little puff. Both engine covers have been off and there is gasket maker hanging out. Told me it was clean and ready to go so I drove 2 hours to see it. He had pics but they are taken so you can't see any damage.

Only the 2005 model came in the black tribal scheme. The 2006 was the orange tribal.

Asking $16,000 because it comes with a used jacket and helmet. Dealers are asking $11,499 new.

must be te total amout owed with his loan interest.... thats what is messing up the values of a lot of bikes here, people paying 5-20% interest on something that they really cant afford, so they want to get the balance of the loan paid off and keep a few bucks.
in reality, if you cant put down 50% of your bike (which yes its a hobby but its also a toy) you shouldnt be buying it. save up a extra year then buy wat you can afford and avoid monthly payments.

so i just got a email back from them.. i was right. they paid $16791 with tax, plates, the gear and INTEREST.
i told him his bad credit score giving him high interest rates (and a closed loan no doubt) doesnt make the bike worth more but good luck with the sale.

this is whats ruining the price of used bikes (but retaining the value for people who paid cash) high interest loans, fixed payments with no early payment relief of the interest. people really need to read what they re signing, i was about to buy new and i knew some dealers had 0 or 1% on cars so i asked and the salesman at Ready powersports said its 10% minimum fixed, locked in... so i passed..and i have amazing credit. i could have paid cash for a new bike but didnt want to put that much out of pocket and just before i almost gave up and did buy new i came across a mint used one with only 3k and honda warranty till 2017... so i think i scored.

Lots of dreamers on kijiji.. Seems better prices for used at dealerships than kijiji. Kijiji people are trying to recoup taxes and financing costs.

"I've learned and experienced my first bike and now it's time to upgrade. This was a great beginner bike and it has taught me a lot about owning and riding this bike. Hands down best bike for the 250-300cc range, and it pains me to sell it."

I think what he meant to say was:

"Oh god, I should never have bought this bike. It's only been a few months, the bike is barely broken in, and I already want something else. I know it's the hardest time of the year to sell, but please someone buy this now before I lose even more money on it
."

I dunno if it's just the style of the paint/fairing, but in the 4th picture is looks scraped, as well as the 6th one.

well he did say it taught him stuff, like how it feels to lay your bike down..lol It is rashed. C'mon lets not be picky after all he is selling for $1000 less than what he paid..lmao
