Stunters at L&L :)

You realize that now you've posted evidence and if even a plate number gets posted those people are potentially ****ed... my suggestion is dont post this stuff on youtube etc. Share the vid and pictures amongst yourselves. How do you think KC got finally closed.....

I didn't post anything that wasn't already public. They made their public display and the people that were there aren't there to be anonymous. I'm pretty sure the cops were well aware that there are people there every week, it's no secret. If they don't want "evidence" of them stunting, then don't stunt there. Go somewhere private and do it. They made the choice to do what they did, and I'm sure I'm not the only one with video of it.

The parking lot is private property... its a legal grey area when it comes to media. But agreed they shouldn't have done it if they didnt want to be seen and potentially caught.
But if someone caught a picture of you doing something on your bike, how would you feel if they posted a pic with your license plate on here?

While private, the cops *usually* have an open invitation from the property owner when it comes to parking lots, as was the case with Woodbine/16th back in the day. As for media, I'm not "media". I don't report news nor was it submitted to a news outlet.
I get what you're saying about posting it, however, if someone doesn't want their photo/video/likeness used then they can take the appropriate action to ensure it doesn't get used. They could have a) left without doing a burnout/wheelie/drift out of the lot with enough time for me to watch a little then think I should pull out my phone, unlock it, open the camera, switch it to video, start recording then focus. They didn't do a quick little stunt... This was drawn out... b) could have taken the stunt show elsewhere and requested no cameras or c) remove plates and identifying markers.
When you're in public you have no right to the assumption of privacy. I can take anyone's photo/video (as long as it's not infringing on personal rights ie upskirt etc) in public places. I'm speaking generally outdoors as this was. I've done a lot of reading up on this particular subject in the past. Go on any photographer's forums and you will surely find a similar subject.

Let's say an undercover cop was there with his high def camera recording the entire "show" to present as evidence at one of their upcoming court cases just to show that the stunting ticket they were previously issued is likely deserved?

Again, there are lots of people out there with cameras, even in the lot as I saw. If they don't want to be recorded, then the onus is on THEM to not be recorded, on any media format they desire.

I understand your concern, but I watched the video a couple of times and I haven't seen any plates visible.

I completely agree with you just commenting is all I am doing. In terms of 'media' I mean pictures video etc.

I haven't watched the video, I just commented on the principal of it. This video wasnt at an angle to grab anything but someone elses might be. As much as I disagree with the stunting... doesn't mean I wish for their risk of legal issues to increase via internet. Noones perfect and I would hate for someone to post a pic of my license plate and I am sure everyone would feel the same.

1:21 I could have easily lost control of my bike and sent it into the crowd......Maybe those people feel safe behind that gate, truth is my 500lb bike would blow through it like paper. Takes a few years of practice to even get confident enough to try stuff in tight spaces like that....For this reason I believe the L&L stunters were not newbies....From what I heard they were not total newbs....Still dont make it right to force people in a situation they dont want to be in, but thats life...People do stupid ****, if you dont like it you need to get yourself out of there...I cant tell you the amount of times people have done stupid **** like burnouts in cars close to me, I never trust anyone doing that stuff so I just get the hell out of the way...

You did lose control of your bike. Luckily you got control back in time. I would have lost it on you....I don't do so well with vehicles almost hitting me...

Just don't stand so close to the fence and you'll be ok!

Anyone hurts you girl and they are gonna have us both to cope with

Don't get me wrong, I'll never "tell" on anyone for stunting. That said if something went horribly wrong and I had info, yes I'd give it over. I thought you had seen the video. Now if I were closer/close enough to get their plates, they would have seen me with the camera and by not asking me to not film, accepted the fact that they're being recorded and their info being publicly displayed. Damn, even Rebecca Black is on YouTube...

For sure, I'll be way back if I ever get a chance to go to a stunt show. Kinda don't have that option at L & L.
Sure you do, if you're afraid that you'll be struck with a flying motorcycle then get as far away as possible. Problem solved. ;)

That dont make any sense, you said "those guys".....So your still insulting a group of people,

This is not the case. It's a general access area, where you have no expectation of privacy, so you can be freely photographed. There is no "grey" involved here.

^^^ Where's the closest Tim Hortons with an underground? I'm there LOL

L and L is a bike meet, not a stunt show. People are not expecting stunting to go on. How are you supposed to get as far away as possible when a random person riding by you just pops a wheelie???

Some one pops a wheelie next to you and it goes wrong, you wont even have a second to process what is going on before your hit. You watched that vid posted right... those people went from "ohhhhh ahhhhh cool" to "omg my heart is going to pop out of my chest, that was friggen close". Not cool to force people into that situation.

Oh and here are some smilies to make everything ok... :D :) ;)

I've only been there that one time but I was expecting it to happen. Although, I don't have much faith in common sense.

I guess you can think of it that way, I always cover the clutch and unless the bike leaves my hands I dont consider it really loosing control...

Lost it on me for what? Would you loose it on a hockey player at a hockey game if he hit someone into the boards right in front of you? Well I didnt even hit the boards I stopped a **** hair in front of it...

I never touched anyone neither did my bike, if thats too close for your comfort then I suggest you dont stand that close. I dont know what those people are thinking anyways, I wouldnt stand that close and I do that ****.. That is a totally different situation though, these guys didnt invite anyone to a stunt show that was advertised as such, they started their own in the middle of a bike meet from the sounds of it...LOL Next time they should gate off a designated stunt section, then people can decide how close they want to get...
