Did u just say "jump out of a perfectly good plane" and being on the 11pm news?

Seriously tho, I want to do it, but the funding will not allow. There is so much things I want to do....
<<sigh>>
As I go older, my mind is reacting more negatively towards it, lol

Chris took me around a Drop Zone and Diving school, it was a good experience

lol X2 ...I was trying not to be too negative, but you are right, jumping out of a perfectly good plane.

There are risks, I think we have to sign a waiver.

After the safety of 17 3/4 years of parenting (two boys)...mini vans and lessons after school - damn I want to live a little...
M Cycle # 3 and sky diving are only some of the dreams I want to follow....

Call it a midlife crisis... what ever...!

Sure the money is large (cost of SkyDiving), but as I get older the bucket keeps getting closer to my foot...

Hey everyone thanks for the interest in this adventure - life seems just a bit more fun when shared with a group of like minded people. :D

I can hear myself screaming as I fall to the earth....

GoPro sounds awesome!

This is the safest way to try a perfectly good parachute. Think of it as a deployable glider.

Got to live your life right now!!! Never know what is going to happen tomorrow or the next day!!!

Niagara Parachutes Shorty gear over Port Colborne.

I bought this "ropes n rings" Team Canada Cloud from Oresetta Chemello for $300.Having a square parachute back in the 70's was a big chik magnet!

Packing the Team Canada Cloud up at Arthur.Chris, you can't see the terminal strap on the d bag.But check out the 2 pilot chutes and the tangle of the ropes and rings up top!!!! Scary stuff in retrospect. No idea what i was wearing in this pic.Prolly something really disco sexaaay.

AND,if that isn't enough of a blast from the past? The stories i could tell you about 2 girls,my VW beetle,me and Scotty Carbone would make the hair on the back of your neck stand up!

My buddies dad used to run the Drop Zone in Baldwin at that time and he started jumping there when he was 13. The pics of you over Port Colburne is at the same Drop Zone that I recommended...Skydive Burnaby. I have done about half my jumps there and know it well. :)
I've also jumped with Scotty Carbone, crazy!

Murry Coursey and Keith Falconer ran the baldwin thing back then.I would honestly be afraid of bumping into Carbone.Crazy sob.He has to be a member of sos by now.

My buddy is Dennis Coursey.
I did a 'boat' dive with Scotty at the World Freefall Convention in Quincy Ill. He was so drunk....lol

Nice pics Ric:D this is going to be great. Thanks for all the suggestions Ric and Chris:)

I second the thanks to Ric and Chris for guiding us to Burnaby and suggesting a tandem first jump.

So far 5 in and 4 maybe (fyi, 5 people = $ 10.00 off per person, 10 people = $20.00 off per person).

Location: Burnaby http://www.skydiveburnaby.com/

$50.00 deposit (each) required to book

Chosing a date might be a challenge, especially so far from summer.

Suggestion wait till at least June to book date?

or start throwing out some dates now?

Suggestion Saturday July 23rd 2011.

Let me know what works best.

Glad you guys are getting lots out of this thread. Here's another bit from the past Chris.Check out the sig on jump #20.I bought a reserve mount altimeter from him and still have it somewhere in the basement.

I remember that Dennis did his first jump midweek with Bob Lennox flying WFP Found up at Baldwin just before Bill Cole did his Chuteless jumps up there.

Update:

I will re-post in Spring...for more participants and finalize scheduling.

The only way to make this work is to book it and pay our deposit. I suggest chosing a date first, before our calendars fill up.

Saturday July 23, 2011??

Then we work out the deposit payment.

done it. it's a blast.

definitely go tandem, and pay the extra cash for the DVD. it is well worth it.

For my 25th birthday I went to Skydive Burnaby. I would highly recommend it to a friend. 14,000 feet, daytime when you left the plane, pitch black nightfall when you touched down 4 minutes later. Effing amazing! Also worth the extra $100 for the DVD video of you doing it.
