tandem skydives don't count. you gotta at least do a static line solo.

Disagreed. Given that your only two options seem to be either static lining from 4,000 feet or tandem diving from 14,000 feet, I'll take the latter any day, as I did for my 25th birthday. Can't beat that full minute of free fall.

Some places offer AFF (aka PFF). Best of both worlds.
Tandem is like going for a ride around the track as a pillion. There's nothing wrong with it but I want to do it myself.

if you think tandem was fun, wait until your first static line, then your first solo free fall. haha. guiding your own parachute is wayyy cool

I was supposed to do my second jump last Saturday but the weather cancelled it. I'll be jumping before the end of the month at Skydive Burnaby if anyone wants to go the same day (PM me).

Glad you guys are getting lots out of this thread. Here's another bit from the past Chris.Check out the sig on jump #20.I bought a reserve mount altimeter from him and still have it somewhere in the basement.

I remember that Dennis did his first jump midweek with Bob Lennox flying WFP Found up at Baldwin just before Bill Cole did his Chuteless jumps up there.

I never made a chuteless jump at Baldwin DZ. My 1st chuteless jump was made Aug 20 1969 at Centralia airport near London, Ontario. My 2nd chuteless jump was July 20 1972 and it was made at Wellington, Ohio USA.

You don't have your facts straight, my friend, and I don't know who you are.

Bill Cole D-41

I did however, make the Canadian High Altitude record at Baldwin on April 7th 1973, from 36,916 ft, giving me a 2 1/2 minutes of freefall.

Bill Cole D-41
