I believe that was a Gixxer.

I've never seen a radar trap on that stretch in 9 years, no real place to hide.
Then they are just that good.
People need to start looking UP.
They have helicopters and airplanes just for hunting speeders.
Funny how those instruments are not used for bad drivers, left lane bandits etc...

I love how everyone assumes that it's the hta 172 is to blame. Nowhere does it say WHY he was running. Don't speed, just go to the track if you wanna act retarded.

All right, but let the one who has never stunted throw the first stone.

My balls aren't big enough to pull a wheelie on my wheelie capable 750. So yeah, give me that ****ing stone.

I suppose since i ride a motorcycle I should automatically think laws are out to get me and ruin my fun.

Oh, and I should also rethink when I tell my kids that someone doesn't make you do something stupid....it's a choice, and it's you that faces the consequences. "He made me do it.."

It's sad, but blaming a law and justifying it's better to run is weak.

"I know i was substantially breaking the law, but let me add some more serious charges to my list."

To be fair, no one knows the story at this point, so lets all agree it's sad someone from the community died.

Every bike is wheelie capable, even cbr 125 ;)

Law makes peopke.
I had a suv beside me and a sunfire behind me.
(traffic flow of 105 is in an 80 north of orangeville)
Suv signal beside me and cross the line, im going for the ditch.
I clicked down and cleared the suv by about 50 ft and sloweed back to 100.
Brakes = hit from behind and run ovet (sunfire right behind)
Stay in the spot = seconds left before im side swiprd (soft gravel/ditch)
Pulling over when i seen thr opp at 100kmh = 172a, susp, fines, impound cost me $2000
Almost lost my job/house so they can offer me 49 over as soon as i walk into court.
That was the last time i pulled over! get run over, almost lose everything becausr of some punk cop, i now pass on both.
Without 172a, or at least a chance in court first, i would pull over every time.

Let's see here:
"The speed limit is the speed limit"
"You make your own choice when you speed, man up"
"You shouldn't be speeding anywhere at any time"
"How is the police responsible for the choice you made" after all they would have picked you up and taken you to the hospital...they cool like that

Did I miss something?

The problem is, when i stop and told them the suv almost killed me.
The response was oh well, 50 over u lose your bike.
The dont try to make the 172a stick, and offer everyone a 49 over.
If i had my contitutional right of inno until proven guilty, a defence of nesesity would of been just.
Its just a money grab, nothing elsr.
That said i always manned up, i pulled into the side road so the opp didnt have to pull out after me. only because when i looked down i was doing 100 in an 80 and would of acepted that because i was doing iy.

Yes you did. They were generous by offering 49 over.
Man, those are just the coolest cops everrrrrr

Next time your in a spot where you fear for your lif....
Stay there, let me know how it ends.
Regardless of you calm words, anyperson on this site in a position where they felt like they are going to get run over by a suv would get out of there. o would do it again the next day if need be, in certain situations people will be charged ith a 172a for avoiding there possible death.

You know I was being sarcastic right? I agree with you, just making sure

Fact of the matter is that none (as far as I can read) of us were there during the incident today. The guy ran for whatever reason. Could've been scared of impound, no license, no insurance, stolen bike, whatever...it happened and there's one less rider around (RIP).

However the law is the law. We all choose to speed at one point or another and its for us to live with those consequences. Unfortunately when (and if) you choose to run, there are other people and families that have to live with the consequences of your actions. You could hit a car, or a pedestrian, or whatever other damage you may cause. My personal feelings are 'ok i ****ed up...got busted and now it's time to pay the price for it' that's the society we live in. Don't like the 50 over law, go move to another province/country that suits your lifestyle and choices better. How do you think that SUV driver feels right now? He or she was involved and may be responsible for killing another person. Sure some have no emotions for that but I'd be pretty sure this will impact their life in more ways than most of us can imagine.

As to the comment about this law being passed, I don't believe I saw massive protests going on in the streets against it. We took it like we don't care, and the politicians passed it. Now bitching and complaining about it isn't going to do much.
