Shopping list for 2014 track season

Hey Ninja experts, I've been looking for tank sliders for my 2007 ZX-6R and they're not nearly as easy to find (have found some) as they are for 09+. Is the 07/08 not at as high a risk of tank dragging fireballing as the 09+ ? If it's not a huge risk I might not get them for now. Thanks!

I know the 06+ R6's have the fireball problem, the 09+ ZX6R does have a tank dragging problem but I did not experience a fire ball....

My 09 tank took a pretty good hit after a high speed lowside, but did not rupture, they let me race with it like that at TMP

Any harder a hit and the tank rupturing would be the last thing Id worry about, might as well set it on fire at that point

Oh. See now, I was hoping to find one that had never fallen off a moving vehicle.

LOL Okay, good to know. Thanks for the info.

I have pretty much decided to go for a Champion inverter. You all can tell me "We told you so" when it craps out on me on the first weekend, and I won't even get mad.

I think its good, very quiet, you can bridge it to another one etc. However there are some comparisons in youtube between the various gennies, the champion was one that did not do so well in regards to power, just research it before you buy it. However I am sure for one set of warmers should be enough.

Got my Champion 2 years ago from Costco for $450, its still kicking and hasnt missed a beat so far... knock on wood.

Well, now I feel like a loser because I just bought one for $450 (very slightly) used. Costco doesn't carry them anymore and they never get under $599 at CT...with tax that is $675-ish. So, I saved $225 but get no warranty. It really is like brand new though.

Congrats! Also, hope it's powerful enough to power me too when my small Champion decides to give up the championship at some random time at TMP next summer ;)

You can borrow power from my Honda any time, but it'll have to be at Grand Bend. No TMP for me next year.

I doubt it will run two sets based on what ZX600 reports. I have also read elsewhere that the 2000-W rating of the Champion is wildly optimistic. But, if it can do it you are welcomed to plug in!

It won't get two sets of warmers hot, they'll turn on but they won't generate enough heat.
